After mastering the included SilverFast scanning software I have been able to "bring back to life" very old b/w negatives (some over 60 years old), tons slides, and snapshots. It is truly amazing to hold a faded yellow snapshot in your hand and moments see the "original" from years gone by on the monitor.
SilverFast is the "Photoshop" of scanning software but once mastered you can tweak the colors, remove scratches, remove discoloration, remove specks and smudges.
And of course the V750 allows you to do all this by scanning at 6,400 dpi resolution and reproducing subtle shades and accurate color. You will not go wrong with this scanner and its accompanying software.

I heard about this scanner and decided that I would embrace it. I am used to traditional film scanners and the transition to flatbed technology was not easy. However I heard good things so I dove in. I have not had chance to do wet mount yet. However, on my first scans on 35mm and 120 Have to say WOW. The quality and resolution is impressive.

I have used other scanners and the V750 M Pro beats them all. All of the features are what I expect in a professional scanner, especially the DPI optical resolution (4800 and 6400). As a Graphic Designer that's very important to get a crisp image reproduction. The software included is extensive i.e., SilverFast, EZ color and Adobe Elements. The top cover accommodates thick books like no other and the speed of scan is fast. Looks (style) simple elegant lines, ease of use - excellent. I only wish it was offered in a 11.5" x 17" read area with all the same features as the V750.

I purchased this scanner because I wanted to have high quality results when scanning photos, negatives and slides. I make professional video shows from still photos and often deal with old and damaged photos that are full of scratches and dust. You will not be disappointed with this scanner - it offers everything you need including the ability to scan multiple slides and better yet the resolution is amazing!

This is the best scanner without going for dedicated film scanners or drum scanners. With family and budget constraints, the family can get the most out of scanning docs while i can get superb scans from film/transparencies. Expensive? Yes, but when you consider its versatility, it's money well spent. I just hope Epson offer drivers for Windows 7...

We bought this scanner specifically to get old negatives into a digital format and so far things have worked great. The scanner is fairly straight forward and works great. The other reviews are correct, you do need to be careful with the plastic form provided to hold the negatives while scanning - but if your careful with it - it works great.
