Simply Durable and Good

It's not a smart phone, but i'll tell you, simplicity is everything. It's quite simple. It's a flip phone. That's it really. Some may read this and say "eh, simple? no thanks" others, "Good, simple is what I need". Get this phone.
Don't waste your money on the rugby smartphone, cause every square inch of that devise is protected, except the WHOLE SCREEN. dropped 6 feet onto the screen (like buttered toast) and shatter. That's not a rugby. This phone I had for over 4 years, and still works like it's only a few months old. Scratches, sure. Scuff marks, sure. But my GPS works still, my voicemail yup, and again, it's simple. Huzzah!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disfunctional and Unreliable

I had a lot of issues with this phone and they were really serious issues. The phone didn't give me text messages right away-they came anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days after they were sent. This happened since I first got the phone new. The phone didn't show phone calls I'd received. The phone didn't ring or show that I'd even missed a call. This happened repeatedly and very often. Turning the phone off for awhile usually fixed this for a bit, but not permanently. Some smaller issues are that it's ringtone selection is very small. It is supposed to be a durable phone, but the screen cracked early on from a small fall. This was supposed to be a sturdy, reliable phone, but the cheap "free" phones that come with a contract worked far better than this "durable" one.
Cons: mechanical issues, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung Rugby III--Junk-plastic not durable like the Rugby I had a year or so ago (now 10-3-2013). I would not recommend to a friend. Not what I expected. Lighter weight means less durable. I can see this thing cracking the first time it is dropped.

Inferior product. Not at all like the Rugby I had a little over a year ago. The updates to the product are terrible. Plastic, not sturdy. Extra cord "Ear Jack converter". Can't plug in my own earbuds-unless I use this extra small cord first. Based on other reviews, sound quality poor, navigation poor. Key pad not as sturdy and easy to use as the old one. This is not military spec for sure--as the first one I had was. This is a piece of plastic junk.
Cons: inferior product, plastic, not durable like last rugby, not military spec, must use ear jack converter

Lousy...I Made a BIG Mistake

Where to begin? • When using PTT, if no one talks for 15 seconds, the phone exits the PTT mode and you have to start all over again. (Open lid, select contact, and press PTT) • Cannot answer a call without opening the lid. • Cannot initiate a PTT call without opening the lid. • Front display goes out after a few seconds with no option to increase the time. • Cannot tell, at a glance, if the phone is ON or OFF. With lid closed, it’s completely dark, no LEDs lighted. • If using an automobile charger configuration and your automobile power goes off when you turn off your key, the phone will quit charging. In order to resume the charge, you have to remove and reconnect the cable going to the phone. • Closing the lid does not always end a call. • No easy access to the contact list/address book. • Difficult to handle without inadvertently pushing the PTT button or volume controls. • Speakerphone audio is horrible. • I’m sure the list of negatives will grow as I use the phone. • I would have returned it within the 15 day trial period, but there is really nothing else good that is offered. • Wish I had my money back. Now I have to wait the 2 year contract out and switch.
