I love this phone from top to bottom. I was having major problems with my prior phone with sound quality. This phone is clearer than my home phone on both sides of the phone call. It has all the features I need and then some. It feels and looks sturdy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't want a smartphone, but a really good flip phone.
Pros: sturdy, great sound quality, display is clear, long battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tough Enough For What I Do.

I am a professional fireman, paramedic, and rescue instructor. I carry my phone every day on my motorcycle in all kinds of weather. I have been using my Samsung Rugby II for about a year now and have had no problems from it. It has been dropped to cement floors, disinfected, used in the rain, hit, and suffered all other manner of abuse. During all of that, this phone has never dropped a call or missed a text, and the camera has proven itself a vital tool on several occasions. The screen is crisp and bright, the display is sharp, and the volume can be as loud and clear as I ever need it to be. It even works very well with the cheap Bluetooth earpieces I normally use. I recommend this phone to everyone who wants a rugged, reliable phone.
I do have some problems with the internet connectivity, including the internet chat features. These are minor inconveniences since that is not what I want from this phone. I also wish that it had an LED flashlight like the one my old Samsung had, but that is also a minor issue.
The only two things that I actively dislike about this phone are that there is no way to disable the PTT function, and that there is no record of the texts that I have sent using this phone. It seems that these would be easy problems for Samsung to fix, I wish they would. I would be happy to get a Rugby III when they come out.
Pros: rugged, battery life, availabilty of chargers, clear display, sufficient file memory, speaker volume, large buttons
Cons: limited function control, text files, internet connectivity

great for those who just want a dependable, long lasting, easy to use cell phone. it is easy to text, make calls, save contacts, voicemail, alarms, saving appointments and it is super sturdy the only drawbacks are it doesn't take very good photos and the audio playback is not very good at all, but it is a phone not a camera or tape recorder so it does what it needs to

OK, I will just say this, when they say this phone IS WATER TIGHT, IT IS!!! My nephew has this phone, and he lost it over the winter...let's just say, it was buried under 3 feet of snow, IN a cow pasture, for almost 3 months!! It was found 3 days ago, in the mud and water. Brought it in, put it in rice for about 36 hours, plugged it in for a few minutes and BOOM...WORKED LIKE JUST OUT OF THE BOX!!! The indicator inside near the battery, STILL WHITE!!! No indication of water seeping inside AT ALL!!! No issues with the screen display, as would be caused by moisture..NOTHING!!! Works great and he's happy to have it back!!!
Now THAT is what I call water proof!!!!
Pros: water proof, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very durable phone. It gets dropped and doesn't fly apart. It gets wet and doesn't miss a beat. Camera is OK, but I have a good camera. I need a phone. It fits nicely in a pocket. The battery life is great. It is not a tablet for checking Facebook all day...it is a good, basic phone, that appears to be indestructible. I have had mine for 4 years now.

This is the phone that I have carried for the last two years and it is a tough, water proof and very reliable. The battery life is good and the graphics clear. If you want a "work" or "play hard" cell phone, this is one you should consider. One great phone.

Great Phone, Lousy Texting

I do not need the features offered by a smartphone. I want a phone that will talk and send text, but it must be rugged. OK, doing an excellent job with two out of three isn't too bad, but I wish the texting capability was better.
The bad stuff: no QWERTY keyboard and no predictive text. It is a pain to send text messages. The type size that does show up onscreen for incoming messages is flea sized and I see no way to change that.
The plus side is the phone is a great phone. Bombproof construction, clear voice in both directions and a real long battery life are the saving graces for this phone. Yes, I like it, but when it is eligible for an upgrade, I will probably dump it.
Pros: rugged, long battery life, clear voice
Cons: no qwerty keyboard, tiny text size, no predictive text

I just got the Rugby III today, seems good so far. I was trying to get my keys for the door & I accidentally dropped it from the 2nd story landing and it was raining. I thought, I hope there right about this phone it was all wet and it hit the lawn chair arm and then the sidewalk. I went down and got it and it was ok, not scratched. I made a call, and received one since then, all ok. Glad that was not my Atrix. I will be taking the Rugby III to work outside and the beach from now on. I can use my Atrix for casual fun and the office.
Pros: great for running around., works in the rain.
