bought this for my preteen, he loves the qwerty key pad. has all the features he needs. reasonably priced.takes good photos that he can upload to his FB

I got this phone and was really excited about it but after using it for about 2 months the battery started to die really quickly and sometimes the phone will run programs that I haven't started and then it will waste the battery. It has a tenancy to freeze and then I have to restart it. This started happening about 4 months after I got it. It gets really annoying. The key board is also too big for my fingers. It also takes about 5 minutes just to turn on. The display is very good though.
Pros: good display screen
Cons: poor battery life, freezes, keyboard is too big
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The phone is great I just needed more battery life I'm always on the move and use the phone for multiple uses. Everything is just fantastic on the phone after the last update.

Poor Phone

Phone shuts off when battery reaches 90%, locks up when you try to use it , very poor antenna, held a LG and the Samsung side by side and the LG had 4 bars the Samsung 1.
Will not be buying another Samsung!

This has been an awesome phone for me. I have had it about a year and a half now and haven't had any major problems at all. The battery used to last me almost all day, it dies a lot quicker now and I have to recharge it once during the day, but i imagine it's just from all the wear and tear I've put on it. Easy to use, stores a lot. I personally love the slide out keyboard, that's the whole reason i chose it. I would gladly stick with this phone fro my next upgrade as well.
Cons: battery life, freezes

i got this phone last march as a birthday present and i love it! i dropped it the next day i got it sadly but no harm was done iv dropped my phone soo soo many times and not even a scratch was left. i love how the keyboard works the only bad thing is after about a year when sending messages it types kindof slow but its great i love the picture quality but not video auality i have about 4 thousand pictures and still have lots of memory ! the battery last a long time in 14 and i txt all day and surf the web and it says on about 10-2% for an hour
Pros: keyboard, picture quality, batery use
Cons: shuts of untouched, short charger

Excellent Slideout keyboard

I needed a updated phone and this Samsung Captivate is a excellent phone with just enough of the big features of a I-phone. Lightweight, fast response to the touch screen great apps from Google Play store. This is not a entry level Smart phone
Pros: slide out keyboard great picture lightweight
Cons: battery
I would recommend this to a friend!
