Our refrigerator died on a Saturday night. I went out 1st thing sunday AM to have the GE Cafe delivered on Monday. So far, so good after a couple of months use. Looks beautiful. Lots of space. Feels sturdy. My wife and I are retired chefs.

does notwork for counter depth

It says counter depth but doors open on an outward hinge and extended 2 inches beyond counter depth. It is very loud and ice maker is very slow. Very disappointed.

Great refrigerator

Bought this about 2 months ago when the kitchen renovation was complete. Did extensive research on competing models and brands.
We looked at ALL models that were: french-door, counter-depth, single freezer drawer, with thru-the-door ice cube, crushed ice, and water dispenser. This model nails all of those requirements and bested what few competitors there were, typically one competitor from each manufacturer.
The refrigerator looks fantastic. Great fit and finish, LCD display and control organization.
The stainless is easy to clean with soap and water and terry cloth towel to dry.
The ice maker and water dispenser is in the door. The door is thick, but it contains the water filter easy to pop out), the ice maker, the grinder (for crushed ice), and the ice storage. Incredibly convenient and easy to use/maintain.The angle on the water dispenser is just right, no splashes and plenty of room for large cups /bottles.
The hot water dispenser, it's fairly quick and gives me the temp I need. I thought it was silly at first, but am amazed by how often I use it and have come to love it.
The lighting on the interior of this model vastly outperforms its competitors. Importantly, the LED lighting basically shines from the outer edge of the interior inward, as opposed to downward from the top of the interior.
The compressor almost never runs and when it does, it is whisper quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The refrigerator is nice the appearance is great. the compressor is very noisy. When we first received the unit it would not cool in the built in position. if I pulled it out from the cabinet it started to cool. I found that the condenser fan was not installed on the condenser properly, it was a matter of snapping it back into its correct position. the air defuser under the the refrigerator was torn loose, I had to reattach the plastic with
some tape. The refrigerator started working with it in the built in cabinet. temperature dropped to normal operating. conditions. the compressor remains noisy and I will call service, to see what can be done.

I bought this refrigerator in a hurry and did not realize some of the limitations. I wish the salesman had explained it to me at time of purchase I would still have bought a GE but would have picked a different model. The hot water dispenser is not worth the extra charge. I am very disappointed in this model.
