We like it more with use

We recently completed a remodel of our kitchen which included upgrades of all our appliances. We went with the GE cafe counter depth fridge and are very happy we did.
At first, since it is counter depth, it seemed a bit shallower than what we are used to. However, we have had no isses with space and feel like we can utilize every square inch. We can fit more in this than the 28 cubic ft side by side we used before.
The lighting in the fridge and freezer compartments is excellent. We like the LCD screen's controls and features and enjoyed uploading pictures of the kids. It has been holding the proper temp evenly throughout both compartments.
The hot water feature is just okay, it takes about two and a half minutes for the water to warm up, which doesn't make it that much more convenient than other methods.
Overall this is a great looking fridge that performs really well and seems to be the best value for stainless, French door, and counter depth. We are very pleased.

Maddening Refrigerator

My GE Cafe refrigerator has been nothing but trouble since day 1. The refrigerator is 7 1/2 years old, and in that time the refrigerator has had five repairs, for the same failure mode, where ice builds up on the evaporator fan, causing a terrible noise, and then eventually the fan fails, resulting in everything freezing in the bottom of the fridge and the top shelves becoming warm. No repair person has been able to resolve the issue and the failure mode occurs once every 12 to 18 months. Incredibly time consuming, costly, and frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great purchase

This fridge has great features. I especially like the precise fill and hot water dispenser. I also like that it is counter depth. It holds a lot of food, but it doesn't take up a lot of space. So far, I'm pleased with my purchase.

This fridge looks and feels extremely high end. The digital screen is very sleek. The hot water and precise fill features are very nice. Our favorite feature so far is the door alarm that goes off when you leave the door open. My husband is infamous for leaving the fridge open by accident and this fixes that, and it yells at him so I don't have to :)

I love my new Café appliances, especially my refrigerator. Has great space between door shelves and interior shelves and I love having the freezer on the bottom. Best feature though has got to be the water/ice dispenser with hot water; great for a quick cup of hot tea. Highly recommend this product.
