The only issue is a cosmetic problem. The plastic ring around the hot water knob has a few minor knicks/holes in it. When the knob lights up, you can see the red light shine through the knicks in the plasitc. It must have happended at the factory. We called for a repair.

We just purchased our Cafe refrigerator - the hot water feature sold my husband. Other features are amazing - including measuring the number of ounces of water being dispensed. It is also very quiet.

We bought this refrigerator a few months ago after a horrible experience with another brand. The GE fridge is great quality and we have had no issues at all. I chose GE because we got a new GE stove about 9 months ago and it is wonderful. I am sticking with GE from now on!!!

Three months in I am glad that I spent the money and purchased a top of the line refrigerator. Well worth the money. I was worried about some of the reviews I read online prior to buying this unit. We don't eat a lot of meat and I needed a frig with a lot of storage space for fresh fruits and vegetables. This counter-depth frig delivered on space inside the frig and I we love being able to view all the fruit and vegetables. The frig has a lot of room to store several beverage containers of tea as well along with containers of nuts and seeds that we regular eat. Opening the frig and being able to see the fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds really helps to enforce good eating habits. Even though this is a counter-depth unit, this unit has so much room. We enjoy the hot water dispenser for making tea and hot cereals. The doors shut without any problem and I love the door alarm to remind me if I have the door open too long. The unit is not loud either as I had read in reviews. It does make some noise when cycling, but certainly nothing to complain about and my den is only 15 feet from the frig. The one drawback we have is that the stainless is hard to clean and that can be very annoying, so I would buy the newer colors that don't show prints as well.

Upon delivery, ice maker did not work. Missing piece and had to wait for replacement part. Refrigerator is much noisier that I anticipated or noticed at store. Disappointing.

A design winner

A well-designed appliance is like a work or art, an architectural work at that, and this refrigerator is certainly that. It adheres to the architectural dictum that “form follows function” in that not only is the exterior beautiful but the interior shows a lot of thought and application of previous refrigerator experiences. This refrigerator not only works but works extremely well. It is a worthy testament to GE and the management, design and production team that produced it with the added benefit of having been mostly produced in the USA with American labor.
