Love this refrigerator

The counter depth is just right for our kitchen and the fridge looks GREAT. The hot water feature is interesting. Will take some getting used to.

Noisy and poorly made

Well, I've only had the fridge for 1 day, and here's my list of complaints so far. Things aren't looking good for this fridge. I've never hated something so quickly.
A lot of people complained about the noise... I didn't think much of it when reading the reviews, but now I regret that I should have. Others have said this already: that it's normal, that it sounds different because of the variable-speed compressor. However, there's no excuse for it to be so loud.
I mean, people stress over 1 or 2 dB of difference in dishwasher noise. (I personally think that's silly.) But, the point is, you can get the loudest dishwasher on the planet and it would be quieter than this fridge. If you get this fridge, don't stress over how loud your dishwasher might be. This fridge is loud, and it runs pretty much constantly, so it'll drown out any noise in your kitchen.
Also worth mentioning is that the hot water dispenser is flaky at best. I've tried to make hot water 3 times, and 2 out of the 3 times, the fridge comes back with the dreaded "Hot Water Disabled" error message. Google this; others have had this problem. So I have to go to the panel and cycle the circuit breaker to get hot water to work.
The stainless steel is also quite cheap for a Cafe--it's something I'd expect on the mainline GE. It's the thin, shiny, with lots of coarse grain, nothing like more polished SS found in higher-end appliances.
And, just after one day, the cover on the touch panel for the temperature-drawer bin has already started peeling off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Noisy, terrible temperature control

This refrigerator makes more noise than any refrigerator we have owned over the last 30 years. Worse, the temperature in the refrigerator fluctuates between 28 and 48 degrees. Items alternately freeze or are too warm. The repairman called GE and was told this was within normal range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice refrigerator, spacious, somewhat annoying continuous humming sound, also, we did not realize sides are not stainless until after delivery, it has an epoxy textured powder coat which is mocha or café in color, disappointed because this was not pointed out to us by our sales representative and it was displayed at the store enclosed. We may not have purchased this product if we had known. Overall, quality product.

Beautiful fridge

Bought this fridge 5 days ago after reading just about 2 million reviews. The outside is beautiful, the inside is nice but the drawers seem a little flimsy for the price - still on par with other brands I have seen at retail stores. I love the features and the TV screen and so do my kids.
