I tried the Otter for my iPhone 5 and it leaked. Otter sent me another one and it also leaked and did some damage to my phone.

Good concept - poor implementation

After loving the OtterBox defender, I purchased the Armor for my new iPhone 5. The concept is great and the phone is easier to get in and out of the case the the defender, but the complements stop there.
First a holster is not included nor is there even one made for this case. This being the premium model I assumed it would be included as it is with the Defender. I even check the packaging twice to see where it was. I was astonished that they don't even make a holster for it.
The there are the quirks. It is very difficult to get into the charge ports, but that is to be expected on a water proof case. The only charger adapter that fits is the one that comes with the iphone and that is very snug. Car chargers and 3rd party cables with the small end are just a tiny bit too large to fit.
The case causes sound issues. The caller on the other hand hears words and phrased abruptly cut off throughout the conversation. When talking via bluetooth this does not happen.
The bluetooth sound is quieter, but I'm not sure if this is the new iphone or the case.
I'm really disappointed. I expected much better quality from Otterbox. This was a bad purchase. I had to immediately purchase a defender so I could have a usable durable case.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poor sound quality, no holster, chargers do not fit
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sharp edge where lanyard goes

I just received my Armor for iPhone 5 today and am not happy with it. The notch cut out for the lanyard has a very sharp edge which is directly where you place your hand (pinkie in my case) and is very uncomfortable. Water test failed out of the box. I'm sending it back. Maybe 2nd generation will improve, I'll not be a guinea pig next time and wait on others to review it before purchasing.
Cons: Low quality, sharp edge lanyard area

Fantastic Case!!!

I have always been a huge an of all of Otterbox's products. I have had 3 past defender cases on my old iPhones and have the defender on my iPad.
I have to be honest, when the Armor series first came out I was a little bit unsatisfied. It looked huge, bulky, and I heard bad things about it. Good thing I didnt listen to those people!
I used to swear by the Lifeproof case and I did like it when I had one on my phone. But I really wanted to give the Armor a try and great thing I did! I love it
It has an awesome look and protects my phone like no other case I have ever seen. It is waterproof and protects it like no other. I work in a very fast paced and busy field, without this case my phone would have been broken a long time ago!
Thanks a lot Otterbox, love your cases. Just need to get a belt clip and we are good to go!
Pros: High quality, Durable, waterproof, great screen protector
Cons: no belt clip

Case has been durable, dropped once with only mild deformation of the corner of case. Recently noticed a crack at the top of the case, unsure of what caused it. All ports are able to be sealed which is a plus. Wish it had some sort of non skid rubber on the edges to keep it from sliding so easy.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: people sometimes have difficulty hearing me, slides on smooth surfaces easily

Very good case

I preordered my case, but I received it almost a week after release date. The case is very strong and looks great. No issues with phone call clarity. Ports are hard to access, but what do you expect for a waterproof case. It is a bit big and bulky, but I actually expected that and so should anyone ordering a case that is "Armored". My only issue with the case is a very fine slice of the outer rubber coating. It is hardly noticeable, but it will eventually effect the case's waterproof integrity. Since I am a Public Safety Diver I take things like this very seriously. I am awaiting a reply back from CS to see how they want to handle this (hint.hint Otterbox CS).
Overall an excellent case and look forward to getting this minor issue resolved quickly. Case is highly recommended for those who need a tough case and those who's life may depend on a phone.

Cons: minor damage to case from manufacturing

I bought the case so I could take pictures on a cruise I was going on...well I got to take picture the first day because I never got near the water but the first day on the island the case failed and my phone died!!!! I hate OTterbox Armor!!!!!!

The Otter Box Armor case is the best case I ever bought for my phone well Otter Boxes' are the best cases for any phone. I highly recommend this case for anyone especially if they are clumsy with their phones. At first when I bought my iPhone 5 I had the Commuter case then the Defender which I have given to my sister after I bought this one and she loves it because she's always dropping her phone. So I highly recommend getting the Armor case either for yourself or as a gift for someone because it was one of the best gifts I have ever been given!!!
Pros: High quality, Durable, fantastic protection
