Great for growing families

This monitor was ideal for our big house. We are expecting our first but planning to add to that quickly. Considering we will have kids bedrooms on multiple levels, I loved the fact that I could add cameras and still only have one monitor with full pan/tilt/zoom, two-way audio, etc. I haven't delivered yet but the tests we've ran are good so far. I also love the fact that they send along two batteries so one can be charging while the other is in use and a/v cords so you can charge the unit directly or on the base. Ideal, again, for our house because the base in upstairs but I'll often need the monitor downstairs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall I am really happy with the camera but I did have an issue with the battery. When you read the description it says that it can last up to 24 hours in peep mode. Well I found it dying a lot while I had it in peep mode. When I spoke to a person they told me that the battery only lasts 24 hours in peep mode if the camera only goes on for no more than 10 times and then quickly shuts off (battery life was a reason I wanted this camera). However, when as soon as I spoke to someone they gave me the chance to send away for a new battery which I did.
Other than the battery life, it really is a great product and I do recommend buying it.

I received this monitor from my mother in law, and so far it's working terrific! I really like that you can change the sensitivity of the monitor to turn on when your baby/child is making noise. It's also quiet without background fuzz. I can place my phone and other electronics next to the base monitor screen and it doesn't cause interference. You can move the monitor which is another cool feature. It has a double screen feature, which will be great once my second baby arrives. I believe you can hook up to 4 monitors so you could see a quad screen. I do have to keep my base monitor screen plugged in all night or else the battery will go low.

Defect

My product has a very big defect in it. I'm hoping the company is good to either return my money, or send me a new device. Will keep you posted. I can't see anything on the monitor. See pictures!

Levana does seem to make a good quality product but their engineers must not be parents. There are so many improvements they need to make on this unit and the rest of their product line. I would like to do business with them in the future if they introduce some important changes but as they currently are I will use something else. We returned our unit for a full refund. Their customer service is very helpful but understaffed. You will wait on hold for at least an hour to speak to a live person.
Here are my recommendations to Levana on how to improve their units and help conscientious buyers:
1) Add a temperature sensor.
2) Make a sound only mode that could be adjusted to various thresholds. If adding a battery backup as suggested below this would reduce power and increase battery life while allowing you the ability to constantly monitor.
3) Make a battery backup for the camera that would operate a voice only mode. This is very important for peace of mind. Most parts of the US experience intermeeting power outages for various reasons. I will not own a unit that doesn’t have a battery backup for this reason.
4) Make a true zoom feature not a digital only with one step. Pan and Tilt are great. They have a great range of motion and the unit is quiet when moving. However, the zoom is not a true zoom. Instead it is a digital zoom with only one step. With a digital zoom you lose resolution in an already low resolution unit.
5) Increase transmitting power of camera to increase usable distance
6) Increase the picture quality and resolution of camera.
7) Make a sound only mode on the handset to increase battery life and allow continuous monitoring A sound only option that could be adjusted to various thresholds would reduce power and increase battery life while allowing you the ability to constantly monitor.
8) Redesign unit to increase usable distance . (The Ovia wouldn’t work through a couple of interior walls and 50 feet. We have another brand that works outside several hundred feet away from the house) We returned the unit largely because of this.

Great monitor

I bought this monitor about two months ago to monitor my twins who sleep in separate rooms. I picked this monitor based on the positive reviews and the fact that it offers a split screen view which was especially important to me. I have used other monitors that toggle through the cameras every 12 seconds but find the split screen gives me more peace of mind as I can see both babies at all times. The only improvement I can think of for this product is that I wish there was a warning alarm if the signal between the camera and the parent unit drops. I have used two different brands of camera monitor and both have had a warning alarm.

Great Picture, and love the features!

We decided to purchase this monitor after our old one was on its last leg. Very happy with the screen, it is much better quality compared to the other one we had. Love all the features, pan and tilt on the camera is great. We also love that it has a lock button so you aren't accidentally hitting buttons, (the two way talk button was very close to where we were picking up holding the monitor) when we figured out you could lock it all together to avoid that, we were very happy. We haven't had any issues with battery life, but we do plug in, or charge at night, and when not in use. Very happy with our purchase!

We have been so happy with the quality of the product. It was easy to set up and the instructions were very useful. The quality of the screen and picture is great. We are using this product on our twin boys and having the option to use the intercom option is fantastic, we don't have to go in the room and have one wake up because we walked in! The video and picture option is great at capturing those crazy monkey sleep positions!!! If you are going looking for a video monitor this is the one to get!
