Great camera

This is the second camera we bought because the first camera (different brand) was not what we expected. This camera has great battery life, and I only need to plug it in roughly every other night. The pan and tilt feature make it easy to see the whole room. One feature I haven't seen on other cameras is the lullaby feature. It came in handy many times during naps! It's great not having to go into the room and disturbing the little one. I would definitely recommend this product.

After playing around with the easy to use features and seeing the picture quality, I think I am going to be quite happy with the Astra! Only complaint is the camera is not wireless since we want to mount it on the wall...we're groin to have to look at the.ugly cord hanging down each time we walk into the room. Other than that, looks great!

This Astra mon it or was purchased as a gift from my inlaws. I have been using it for 4 months. The night vision picture is really great. Very pleased with it.

Just bought this a couple weeks ago and am fairly happy with it. Lullabies and pan and tilt are great features. The zoom is okay (just one stop) and picture quality in the dark is just okay.

awful night vision

I received this monitor as a shower gift and I was extremely excited to get it especially with the high price. I am beyond dissapointed with the quality of the night vision. I can't see my baby at all like they claim. It is awful, photo attached. I threw the box away or I would be returning it. AWFUL, DO NOT BUY!

My wife and I received our first Astra as a gift. I remember being blown away by the features and soon learned they all work well. With our daughter now a toddler she has gotten ahold of the monitor and has really hammered on it. At the second year mark with a beat up monitor that was not picking up reception, we decided it was time to purchase a new set. They have made several noticeable changes for the better. Everything seems to work better and the screen looks ten times sharper than the old version. We would highly recommend this item to any new parent.

Love it, but has a few glitches

I bought this about a month ago so I could keep an eye on my twin girls in their bedroom. I love how I can pan the room to change the point of view so I can see each crib and what they are doing. I wasn't sure if I would even use the talk feature, but my girls actually listen when I tell them to lay down and go nyny through the camera... don't ask me why, but they instantly fall down onto their mattresses to lay down when I tell them to. The lullabies are a joke, they are very mechanical sounding and not soothing, so I just don't use that feature. I was concerned that the white noise machine I use in their room would make it hard for the monitor to pick up their sounds, but it works great. It actually works a little TOO well... I don't care to hear every cough or quiet babbling in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep. I have it in peep mode, so it only turns on when it detects sound and it then will turn on the monitor too. I wish there was a mode where you could select how loud a noise has to be to trigger it to come on. I also wish there was a mode that would turn the volume on in peep mode if there was whining or whatever and you could CHOOSE to turn the video on if it was something you needed to see what was going on. It is kind of annoying for the girls to cry out once like WAH because they woke up for a second and then immediately fell back asleep, but to then have my parent unit lit up with sound on until I turn it off. Levana may also want to think about having a setting where the video and audio will stay on for 1 minute or something for you to see what is going on after it picks up a noise, instead of staying on completely with audio and video until you turn it off. I leave the monitor next to my pillow and leave it face down on the bed so when it lights up because it was triggered by noise it doesn't wake me up unless it is a REAL cry. Let's face it, there is never a night when at least one of the girls doesn't cry out or start talking or whatever in the middle of the night, and I don't need to be woken up over every little sound by that bright screen light (although I do have it set on a dimmer setting). A couple of concerns I have are: the battery gets SUPER hot whenever it is charging and has done so since the day we bought it. I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but I sure pray that it doesn't mean it is going to die anytime soon. Another thing is the power button seems to be a bit finicky the past couple of days... and that makes me nervous. While this monitor is fairly priced when compared to other monitors, we can't afford to buy a replacement anytime in quite some time, so I am hoping these things aren't bad signs. You should just be able to press the power button quickly to turn the screen and audio off once it has been triggered in peep mode - but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't now. The picture of the baby in the crib they show on the website and on the box looks nothing like the video picture you will see on your monitor. At night time it is all black, gray and white, and during the day it is very muted colors. However, I didn't expect camera type quality. As long as I can see what is going on and if I need to go in and get a knee unstuck from in between crib slats or if someone has lost their coveted seahorse, that is all I care about. All in all, I really love having a video monitor! This is the first one we have had, so I am not sure how it compares to others. I will be happy as long as it lasts me a couple years!

Best monitor yet

After heavily shopping for a video monitor, we settled on the Levana Astra. I've been very happy with our purchase. I love all the features it had, especially the peep feature so that I'm not hearing the fan noise in my daughters room all night through the monitor. The video quality also seems very good. The only issue I have occasionally is reception problems, I can't seem to go to far in the house without loosing reception occasionally.
