This appliance is replacing an all fridge that had it's compressor fail just after the warranty. This is the forth NEW fridge that we bought in 12 years. We decided to try a different brand than any of the others we had. The salesman said that Kitchen-Aid were the best. I hope he is right, and this one lasts longer than it's predecessors. We bought extended warranty on the fridge, just n case.

After less than three years of excellent performance, the upper fridge section of my bottom freezer unit began to warm up even though the freezer was still OK. The repairman started out by saying a new bi-metallic (thermoswitch?) needed to be ordered (around $190 total). The next day he came out with a new "Jazz Board" controller after having conferred with Kitchenmaid. Total bill - $399.49. Let's hope this sort of malfunction doesn't occur in the foreseeable future to really test my brand loyalty.

I choose Kitchen aid for the top refrigerator, solid warranty and made in American.The refrigerator part is wonderful. Love the deep door and bottom drawer for meats and cheese. It 's easy to customize for personal use.
The vegetable drawers are short and slip out of the tracks. Getting used to a new design takes time. It is easy to clean inside
The freezer is taking a little more time to organize and utilize.
The stainless steel door already has scratches on it. no idea how that happened. Would not get stainless steel in future. I bought the proper product to clean it, but shows hand prints easily. It has been used only a few months. Would love to write a review in 5 and 10 years. I hope it will still be cooling my food.

I did a complete kitchen remodel in my old farm house last month and went with all KitchenAid appliances. I am so happy with my bottom- freezer refrigerator. It is so easy for me to access my frozen foods in the pull out drawers. The top section has plenty of space for my bottled water and separate drawers for vegetables and cheeses. The design was very well thought out. It meets all of my needs and more. The stainless steel finish has added an up to date look to my home. Thanks!!
