Bad Ice Maker

I bought this just over a year ago and the ice maker has already failed. Unfortunately it only comes with a one year warranty, so now we'll have to pay for repairs. Another issue is that the freezer door is tricky to close. It's been accidentally left ajar many times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Energy Savings

I bought this refrigerator almost 3 months ago and I love it. First my electric bill went down by nearly $10 a month over last year. I love the bottom freezer because I can see everything in the fridge without bending over. No more long lost green leftovers! The bottom freezer is easy to open and is quite roomy. I love the sliding drawer on the top of it. I never would have chosen the fridge for the water in the door, but I have been drinking more water since I bought it and it tastes great. There is plenty of room for all our needs,even big 2 liter soda bottle in the door. This refrigerator was a great buy. The ice maker works fine, but I don't really use a lot of ice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is less than desirable.

This refridgerators ice maker is slow. Ice gets jammed and does not come out easily. The ice maker takes up too much room in the refridgerator compartment. The design of the shelves is less than desirable. The stainless steel is lovely but I would not recommend this refridgerator.

Great for the price

I purchased this because I hated the side by side fridge. I love the double doors and the bottom freezer. Sometimes I'll lose a small item (like a freezer pop) in the shelving of the freezer, but other than that, it's great. The water pressure from the filter is not the greatest, so it's best to have patience. It's a great fridge.

We bought this fridge to replace a Maytag Ice2O that had that infamous control panel "blinking light, flapping ice door" problem. Before we discovered that it could be fixed for $4 and a soldering iron, we bought this one (both Whirlpools, at least after the merger). The old fridge is in the garage, and this stainless one is newly in our kitchen.Anyway, this model is slightly larger inside, and otherwise is similar. I like it. It's nice looking. It seems to run well. It's roomy, though I haven't quite sussed out the optimal shelf arrangement, but I will. It's nice. It's just a little noisy. And the ice/water dispensing is a bit sloppy, but if you snug your glass up--and hold it there for a couple of seconds after dispensing--you'll be fine.As Dom DeLuise said in "History of the World: Part I,": "Nice. Nice. Not *thrilling*, but nice!"

One small glitch.

I had trouble with the door handle on the freezer pulling off. Solved the problem by gluing it on. Other than that, I'm very happy with the refrigerator.
