ICE MAKER NOT THE BEST

THE ICE MAKER GAVE UP AT 2 YEARS. the heating element connections on the icemaker tray melted. the ice chute regularly jams up with ice cubes then freezes them into a solid block. it spits out crushed and cubed ice at same time.ice cubes get stuck to icemaker tray, so the rotating fingers can't push the ice out of its tray.trying to find a replacement icemaker but no part number on the old one to tell u which one to buy. pay for the longest extended warranty you can get.

A great deal on Modern Technology and Efficiency

When putting down hard-earned cash on a big purchase like this, we did our homework. We comparison shopped online and in brick-and-mortar stores until we found the features we liked within our budget. This met all of our needs including the budget (closeout since a new line was coming in). We made sure to read other owner's reviews before finalizing our purchase in late April 2013. At the time of this writing (Oct 2013) the unit has performed beautifully. I appreciate the "open door" alert for the french doors. One time we must have not fully closed the freezer drawer; the next time we opened it, the light was out and everything was frosted over. We thought something was wrong with the unit at first, but decided to wait to see if that was the issue - it hasn't happened since, but just a caution that you have to make sure the freezer fully closes since there is no open door alert for that. I love the modularity of the shelving and drawers and its ease of use/cleaning and the features of the water and ice dispenser. I especially like the long, shallow drawer with temperature control - it's just deep and large enough for platters, though for now I use it as a meat drawer. My impression is that I waste less food since the fridge is at waist level (unlike old fridges where one has to stoop and things get lost in the back), and it's better since we're in and out of the fridge portion more often than in the freezer (and love that it has a two tier drawer with a basket). I especially appreciate the satina finish - no fingerprints and easy to keep clean! Definitely make sure you make a criteria list and assign it a budget to help with shopping. We wanted to make a good investment - I hope this lasts for a good 20+ years!

I bought this refrigerator 4 months ago. I really love it. It works great and keeps everything good. It seems like fresh vegetables and fruits last longer

This was everything we had hoped for and more. I love the see-through door shelving. The freezer is so easy to find things in. It's so well designed. The ice and water dispenser are large enough to accommodate large cups and even a small blender.

I love my refrigerator! The only complaint I have is that the water/ice dispenser protrudes into the refrigerator space inside...but that is the price you pay to have that feature and it has not been a major inconvenience.

Makes life easier

I asked my appliance repairman who he would recommend for appliances. He said Whirlpool. I bought all new appliances for my new house, all Whirlpool. I love my new refrigerator. It even alerts me when I have not completely closed the door. What a great thing to have with young children. I love all my appliances, even my washer and dryer are Whirlpool. Thanks!

Also, the panel on the door is a nice feature. The ice dispenser works well most of the time. However, the ice will jam when I dispense large amounts as I do to fill a pitcher.
