Honest Opinion

This refrigerator was purchased by builder for my new home. I have owned it for 1 1/2 years. So far the drip pan, was broken on installation. I had to have a good portion of my wood floor replaced. The compressor went, and had to have replaced. The warmer in the ice cube maker went and was replaced. The freezer handle keeps falling off, no matter how much you tighten the screws. Bottom left bin hinge broke off, had to replace. This refrigerator sounds like gun shots, in the middle of the night, even with ice maker turned off. Builder purchased a year extended Warranty because of damage to wood floor. It will be up in November, I will be "forced" to purchase more Warranty time, as this refrigerator "demands" it. I loved Whirlpool products for over 50 years, but this refrigerator is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I have all other Whirlpool appliances, which I would highly recommend, what happened to Whirlpool refrigerators?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A nice roomy fridge that's good looking and very functional. I like the front water and ice dispenser that allows both cube and crushed ice. My previous model only dispensed cubes and its nice to have crushed ice with my drinks. I recently upgraded my dishwasher to a Whirlpool Gold and this Whirlpool Gold fridge is a perfect companion.

love the way this fits into my remodeled kitchen.and the appetizer drawers are great for party prepping (now I need to host a party!)the ice and water in the door has been used every day for the last month, very happy to have that option.cannot say enough, lets see how this holds up in the coming years.

We love our new fridge!We've been using it for over six months now and besides one of the shelves breaking we love it! It is opened and rummaged through hundreds of times every day and we love it.

My refrigerator has stopped working twice already!

We bought model GX5FHTXVY03 about one year ago. Two months ago it stopped working on the top part and we spent $205.00 on a new thermostat and labor and had to get rid of all the spoiled food. Now the same thing is happening again. This is very frustrating and I will not buy a whirlpool product again.

The refrigerator works very well and is designed to fit many items. The compartments are very practical. The icemaker and water lines work very well. The only complaint I have is that the handles seem to show a lot of dirt/smudges.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great design with blue glow warm screen with bright easy to read display.The little details and thought will put a smile on your faceAs you open the doors the interior lighting is great it invites you to look inside and discover a very large and managable interior with easy to configure and clean shelvesThe quality is top notch it will have you wondering how it makes ice and chills water with barely a soundenergy star rated and a fit and finish to make you proudHighly recomendedWell done whirlpool
