great phone with some exceptions

phone camera has great image, phone works great, overeall great phone besides lower named and not so great games, my battery lasts about 15 hours

I got this phone pretty cheap on a Go plan, have not been disappointed with what I got accounting for how much it cost. The layout is great and easy to customize, and the sync across other windows and Google apps has been a lifesaver, not to mention the Fb contacts which is a lifesaver for me. I use it to manage my schedule and have not been disappointed. It got a lot better after the last software update Summer 2014. No selfie camera which is disappointing and the quality is barely passable as good- so zooming on pics is shady at best. The lack of apps that comes from being a windows customer is disappointing but worth it in my opinion.
My major complaint is with the sound system and headphones. They are not durable, quite delicate. The speaker on the phone is impressive however, people comment on the quality and volume. Apps sometimes take quite a while to load, but mostly this goes away when you shut them all down and turn your phone off once in a while. I'm very happy with the screen resolution and the sensitivity of brightness setting when in auto (I read a lot on my phone).
I broke one (the headphone jack - not irreparably, but uncomfortable for listening to music) about 9 mo after getting it (which is more a comment on the very brusque way I treat my possessions than on their quality). I replaced it and have had it in good condition for about 5 mo and counting. The battery life starts off great and decreases from about 14 to 9 hours when playing music nonstop. Charging speed is quite good. (Keep in mind I do not have any data though.)

Would recommend for a Good phone and low budget. More about practicality for organization than flashy apps and features.

My first smart phone

I have had very limited experience using smart phones. I have enjoyed very much the ease of learning and use of this phone. The apps offered do all that I need. The on-screen keyboard is not as good as I would like as I find that the screen is too sensitive and sometimes records keystrokes even when my finger makes no physical contact with the screen. But other than that I love the Nokia Lumia 520 I feel I got much more of a phone than the price I paid for it. What a surprise to know that this phone included the phone version of Windows Office... great advantage for me since I depend on Office in my desktop for my business needs. I will stick to Windows for the long run.

durable phone

I dropped my phone down an elevator shaft today. It fell 24ft down to a cement pit. The case came off, the back came off and the battery came out but once it was retrieved and put back together the phone works perfect! Not a scratch on it! By far the most durable phone I have ever seen!

i loved this phone very very much! I had it for three months when it broke. unfortunately, it fell on the asphalt the screen cracked and them the touch wouldn't work. The touch screen is very good! It was very easy to get around with, cheep, and a great size. I didn't feel like there were any apps that i was missing. I recommend this phone!
