simple and cheap

I bought this stove a few weeks ago. It works . but the stove top burners are either HOT or much cooler... not gradual as you turn down the heat. Hard to adjust for cooking. also the workmanship is not very good... large gaps between sections of the stove parts and sharp edges showing at corners. I can't afford anything more expensive, but would have liked to receive a nicely put together and good working stove. GE obviously doesn't take pride in ALL their appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice stove for rental apartment

Nice stove with coil top burners. Cannot use smooth top in apartment due to renters never cleaning properly. It was a good buy. Also, limited electronics will save on repairs.

Is not self cleaning. Does not have clock or timer. Small front burner does not lay flat, but does work when pan is placed on it

Inexpensive but Cook Great

I have had this range for several years and it still cooks great. I especially like the consistent temperature produced by the oven which is large enough to meet almost any need. I have yet to replace a single burner. The only problem I have had is with the oven handle. It could be sturdier. I had to repair it at the point where it attaches to the door.
