Works very well

I bought this a few months ago to replace an old built in range. I like the larger oven and the knobs on the front of the stove. The oven and all the burners work very well. My one complaint is the "backsplash": it looks like there should be something on there...a clock...a timer...something. Works well for a no frills stove.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Time to preheat ridiculous

Add much add I love love love GE appliances, this is the 1st time I've ever had an issue. I set my oven to 350°, and after 30 minutes, it was only up to 300. This is simply unacceptable. This is a replacement for the same model that did the same thing, only that one stayed in a perpetual state of preheat, and once it FINALLY reached the preset temperature, it just kept going. Needless to say, everything I tried to bake got burned. Is there a problem with the thermostats in this particular model? When I cook ribs low and slow, I very often leave my home to run errands since they cook for 8 to 10 hours. There is NO WAY I feel comfortable doing that with this stove. Any suggestions?? This may sound silly, but the only reason I gave it 2 stars is because this is the first GE product with which I've ever had an issue.

Great Range

I recently purchased this GE Range. It is no frills, but heats and cooks wonderfully.
I love the fact that it has no electronic (computer) oven, nor is it convection to dry out food. It is a fantastic product for anyone with a little arthritis in their fingers.
Sometimes, returning to basics is a great thing!!! I would highly recommend this range.

Basic Cooking Pleasure

I purchased this stove because I was looking for a basic, no frills cooking appliance that had the buttons in the front. Most gas stoves have them in the front where it is easy to reach and not stretching over the burners but most electric stoves do not. When I found this one I was quite delighted. I love having the knobs in the front of the stove. The burners heat quickly and lowering the temperature for warming works very well. I love the size of the oven and the drawer underneath to keep my frying pans in. This is a no frills stove, just a great cooking appliance that looks great in our country kitchen. I am very satisfied with the look of the stove and also satisfied with the price paid for it. I would recommend this stove for anyone that isn't looking for digital features.

Exactly what I was looking for

I needed a conventional, non slide-in range (black/stainless)...no longer easy to find. This was exactly what I wanted to replace my smelly old conventional range. I would suggest maybe putting the GE emblem in a more prominent place, as I was compelled to put a Dodge Dart GT fender badge on the backsplash instead. Also added contrasting burner bowls to my liking.

Easy to keep clean, efficient, well insulated, extra storage. It is amazing how fast an egg boils. My kitchen is cooler with this new addition.

I bought this range with the new house. It is functional, however it doesn't have any features. No preheat setting, no clock or timer.

The range cooks well but I hate those coil burners

I bought this range month ago, I thought I was paying for a stove that had no coil burners, There is no clock on it, I plan to get rid of it by December and get what I really want. I like the dials being in the front. It cooks food wonderfully. To find out it is discontinued is even more reason for me to get rid of,.
