Glad we got the 6-loop Power Boil coil element which produces more rapid, powerful heat than the 5-loop large coil elements. We use cast iron cookware so did not want a glass top. Storage drawer is rather shallow, but oven capacity had to come from somewhere.

Range was just installed yesterday, so haven't even tried the oven yet--only a cooking eye. But we purchased this range sight unseen--since it wasn't carried in the store, but only online. Reviews were impressive, so we took a chance and so far, we are pleased. The stove looks great in the kitchen & is much more attractive than the online picture. And, it seems sturdy and well-built--even resembles more of a commercial grade stove. I was replacing a ceramic cooktop that was in our house when we bought the house last year. That was my first experience with a ceramic cooktop & I was not impressed, so we went back to the coil heating elements instead. I like the rolling oven shelf and am anxious to try out the oven tomorrow. We went with GE since it had the best record (least repairs) per Consumer Reports. Hope this last years!

Simple and efficient

My old stove gave out on a Monday. We had our new GE by Thursday. The burners do not take long to heat and then holds the heat. I can turn the burner down and it still cooks evenly. The slide out rack in the over is a delight for my old back. Thank you who ever designed that delightful feature. The guide for using the oven is well done and leaves little room for error if any it is on the user. Thank you again for still creating quality products in this "Use it for a while and throw away".

Good 'old school' coil except...

The look is nice except for the top panel. I do not like the curve on top also the knobs are set way off to the side looking odd. I like to put salt and pepper etc on top and will instead add a shelf above. The panel in front is also concave making the knobs look odd again. Would also prefer black pans instead of shiny silver. Good news the oven preheated within 6-7 minutes. Like the extending rack inside. Was looking for a high-end coil, this was the best I could find. Was willing to pay much more for better product/features but seems to be performing well.

Stainless without the glass top

One week,so far, so good. Just a note we searched for a stainless steel range without the glass top even looking at gas but friends bought all new appliances and found stainless with coil burners. We bought immediately after researching online. We had a GE for many with no problems hope this one lasts the same way. Love the rack that slides out on rollers, the oven light must be turned on, doesn't come on when the door is opened. We didn't want the smooth as did not like how hard everyone said they were to keep clean and we also observed others that had smooth tops that after a few years they were scratched.
