This dishwasher was recommended by our contractor for being quieter, and we agree. Barely know it 's on. Cleans well. Needs the rinse aid to dry well.

This dishwasher replaces the previous Kitchen Aid dishwasher, which we bought in August 9f 1997. We liked the old one, but this one seems even better at cleaning our dishes efficiently. We like the silverware baskets, which keep the individual pieces from "nesting". We do find the covers for those baskets get out of place rather easily, and take some effort to re-align. We like the control panel, except that it can be accidentally activated by leaning against it. (That happens when we need to reach the cupboard above the dishwasher.) We learned from a friend, with the same model, to use the Control Lock button to solve that problem. The design seems to accommodate more items than the older model did, which is another plus.
Pros: easy to use, Cleans Well, Performance, Convenient Features, lots of area for loading, silverware baskets keep items from "nesting"
Cons: can be accidentally activated, lids for silverware baskets come loose easily

I love my new KitchenAid dishwasher. I replaced my old Kenmore with this one and it is so quiet I hardly know it is running. The front controls are a little touchy as when I barely bump it, it can be turned on or off easily. I have found that if I keep the control panel locked it prevents this from occurring. Now that I know this I probably would have bought the model with the hidden controls.

This is the best dishwasher I've ever had. It runs so quiet I had to go and check to make sure that I did start it and I'm still trying to get use to not having to pre-rinse my dishes before loading them. Everything comes out spotless and dry !

In addition to being quiet, I like the rack for silverware, the clean light doesn't go out when you open the door -- only when you shut the door tight after opening, the dishes appear clean, but there seems to be moisture on the door after drying.
