The dishes really come out clean and dry! I really love how quiet it is and the way the racks are designed for amazing flexibility for sizes and shapes of dishes. Also, the ability to load tall things on the bottom rack. My only 2 complaints are about the directions that are provided in the Owner's Manual. We had trouble getting the machine to start the first time until we learned that we had to HOLD DOWN the Start button until it started. You can't just press it quickly and expect it to start. Also, we had some difficulty figuring out how to put in the rinsing aid in the dispenser - even after reading the directions several times. Now that we know how to do it, it's no problem. Our model has the control buttons on the front and occasionally I lean against the Cancel button and I hear the machine going through that process. The best thing I found to do to prevent that is not to have the door completely closed so that it doesn't latch. All in all, we are very happy with this dishwasher!

This dishwasher works and cleans very well. The only problem are the utensil holders never stay in place and are so cheaply made. Also the keys are very sensitive and you must always keep the lock on. I was doing a wash and leaned over machine to reach something and the machine turned off.

This dishwasher replaced our 10 year old KA, basically the same model. This unit works very well, just as our old one did. There are only two things I'm not 100% pleased with - the covers on the silverware basket. They don't stay in place well at all, and some of the slots are set directly over the dividers in the baskets below, so some of the slots cannot be used. Also, I miss the "add a dish" light that I used to have on the old model. I used that feature/function quite a bit. There is a workaround (open the door, see if the soap dispenser has opened yet), but it was much easier to just look at the little light. Those are small issues though. Overall it does a great job. I particularly enjoy the sani-rinse and I only used the pot scrubber feature once so far, but it did a good job. I also like that it has the hard food disposer built in. I do not like washing the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher.

The dishwasher appears to be well made and functions well. However, I don't run the dishwasher every day and just put whatever dishes I use in. I find that the inside of the dishwasher starts to have a "smelly" odor until I actually run the machine. My previous whirlpool never did that.

This dishwasher is so very quiet when it operates. I have to put my ear to the door to make sure it has started washing. This is an important feature at my house because the kitchen is at one end of the great room. The dishwasher does not interfere with my husband's big screen TV....at all!

Good at first, not good now (2.5 years)

I bought this dishwasher 2.5 years ago and it worked very well at first. Dishes were clean and the machine was quiet while washing. Within a month of the 1 year warranty expiring, the pump died and the washer started making a grinding noise. At the same time, the 'axle' on the plastic rack adjuster broke. Since this time, I have had to replace the upper rack adjuster several times due to the failure of the plastic axle. Recently Kitchen Aide released a new part to replace this faulty piece, so problem solved. In the last two months, the dishwasher has not been cleaning the dishes, along with being very loud while not cleaning them. I'm very disappointed in this dishwasher and had expected it to last much much longer than it has based on the amount I paid for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
