Purchased this dishwasher based on reviews and salespersons recommendation, and happy that I did. This dishwasher is the best I have ever owned, and has all the features I could want. Sleek design, easy-to-use controls, flush-mount to cabinetry, stainless steel inside and out, adjustable baskets and shelves, efficient and easy loading, dishes come out sparkling clean including glassware, and very, very quiet. I would highly recommend this KitchenAid dishwasher!
Pros: Innovative, Convenient Features, Quiet, Performance, Attractive, Design, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

The home we purchase 8 yeas ago came with an older kitchen aid dishwasher. It worked well so we decided to get another one. I am so glad we did! I love not having to rinse the dishes and having them come out clean. It is also very easy to adjust the shelves for large items. The extra pressure spray for casserole dishes is great also. Would definitely recommend this dishwasher to others!
Pros: easy to use, Convenient Features

Poor design on door elements & cheap parts

We ahve had the dishwasher for 3 years, although it has been in use only for the last two years. In that time of use, I ahve had to repalce the upper rack support wheel assembly 7 times over 24 months due to the cheap design of all plastic parts that break with little effort. We have not been hard on the upper rack, just normal use. The wheel assembly design is just plain poor.
Just recently, the control panel lights do not funciton properly. Some stay lit, other don't light when the button is pressed. Never sure what functions we are calling for. Pulling on the recessed handle to open the door causes the control panel front to pull loose. Add to that, the door vent is built into the side of the door panel rather than the front. While it might look cleaner for the door, the heat from the side vent has "cooked" a couple of our new drawer fronts, requiring them to be refinished
All in all, my wife and I are extremely disappointed with this dishwasher. Once it it repaired (under an extended warranty than god) we intend to get rid of it buy an dishwaser that is a better design and bett quality.
Cons: See above

So far the dishwasher seems to be just what we needed. Outside of the accidental turning on due to location and sensitivity of controls, we are very happy with the dishwasher.
Pros: Convenient Features, Performance, easy to use
Cons: controls sensitive and prone to accidental turn on

I shopped around a lot before buying this model and read a lot of reviews on different dishwashers.
Noise is barely detectable. Does a great job of drying on heated dry-- although some plastics or anything with hollowed out bottoms are likely to have small water at end, I did not find one review in any brand that solved that issue--soo.
Really got the dishes and glasses spotless on normal cycyle. I love the adj upper rack and the fold down tines on both upper & lower racks as well. I had a hard time finding fold down tines in both U& L and still in the price range of this dishwasher. I like the front controls, but I did read reviews about bumping up against the buttons and having to reset. I see they have a controi lock function, but I just stuck an oven mitt through the top rack handle- where it won't damage the latch or rubber seals- at all- and it just keeps door slighty ajar where panel wont work. Maybe kitchen aid should come up with a flat plastic thing to attach to that rack handle like I did -maybe 2-3 inches thick. Could just flip plastic inside when wanting to run dishwasher.-at least as a temporary fix, until they figure out a better touch panel. Otherwise-- this dishwasher is about the best quality for the money that I could find, with a lot of features, adj. racks, fold down tines on both U&L, several wash cycles, delayed start, stainless tubb, dries well, and very quiet.
Pros: Convenient Features, dishes are shiny clean, fold down tines upper & lower racks, the number & types of cycles, adj upper rack, easy to use, Performance, excellent heated dry
Cons: bumping control panel

Interior falls apart

I have had mine less than a year and several interior pieces have fallen apart. One wheel disintegrated, plastic pieces that hold the silverware and clamps for rearranging have fallen apart. The door has become difficult to open and the left hinge sounds like sand paper!
Pros: Design, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I replaced my 20 yr old kitchenaid dishwasher because it died. I love kitchenaid. Love this with stainless steel interior. Uses less detergent. More energy efficient. So quiet you don't realize it is on!
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Convenient Features, Design
Cons: like the way my older kitchenaid dishwasher load.
