Overall, this is an very good appliance. The only issue I have, is the the plastic pieces, that divide the silverware/flatware won't stay in place. Every time I remove the silverware, I have to reset the pieces. Cleans very well, Lots of room for dishes, pots and pans. Very quiet operation.
Pros: easy to use, Performance
Cons: silverware basket plastic mesh won't stay in place

When the last unit failed because of (my opinion) poor material choices in the pump, I really found no alternative that to buy new.
Kithen Aid really must have a better handle on the durability of materials than is evident.

We recently purchased this dishwasher for our home. My husband installed it himself--that was easy to do. The dishwasher does a great job of getting things clean. It made a spoon with dried on pecan pie caramel come put sparkling on the "normal" setting. The racks fit my fiesta ware fishes well, and I like that the silverware racks are adjustable and in the basin rather than the door. The machine is also quiet--much more so than our previous dishwasher. I would buy this dishwasher again in a heartbeat.

The only thing I can fault is the push button controls on the outside of the door at waist height, which means they get pushed a lot when someone leans against the counter where the dishwasher is installed. Other than that, however, the unit is outstanding. Very, very quiet! I particularly like the well-designed spray arms, the stainless steel interior, the clever flatware holders, and the top basket clips for light items. The top basket adjustment is very easy to use.

Cons: buttons turn on too easily by accident

Love the dishwasher but don't like the rack that holds the silver wear. The top piece of the silver wear rack never stays in place is always coming loose and dropping down causing forks and spoon getting catch. Removed it but then the end of silver wear drops thru and catches. They need to redesign that part of dishwasher. But it is very quiet and cleans my dishes fine.

Cons: don't like the design of silver wear caddy

I like the design and performance of this product except for the controls...they're too easy to accidentally turn on. I guess because my last kitchenaid had dials to alter the use, I'll have to try not to accidentally press the areas which control the dishwasher. Anyway , ask me in a year if I like it.
