We remodeled our Kitchen six years ago and purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher ( top of your line) and had to replace it. So we looked at all the different makes and settled on another KitchenAid. We now wonder if we made the right choice. The front panel is so sensitive that when it is brushed it goes into drain cycle. After two service calls they have replaced the front control panel and the pump and it still does the sane thing. We purchased the brand because we like all of the Whirlpool products having purchased the Duets W&D, KitchenAid Refrigerator, JennAir Range and Oven all Top of your Line products. Please Advise!!

Have it since 3 years. Worst Dishwasher i ever owned! Dishes don't get clean! Does not have a pre-rinse except when your self do it first! Pots never are clean and always covered in a whitish something!Wheels on top rack constantly break off! Hate my KitchenAid Diswasher!

We purchased this dishwasher because it came in Almond to match our other appliances. Very few others came in this color. It is a very good product, however, I really miss the 'rinse only' cycle. Since it doesn't have a rinse only cycle I use the 1 hour wash cycle with no detergent for a few minutes and then have to remember to cancel it so it doesn't go through a complete cycle. Without this feature dishes start to smell between washes. I don't want to have to rinse dishes before putting in the DW or else I could just wash them by hand. It defeats the purpose of having a DW. Other than that I am very happy with the performance. It gets the dishes squeaky clean.
Pros: Gets dishes very clean, happy it came in almond color, easy to use, Performance
Cons: needs a rinse only cycle

Everything about this machine is great except the placement of the controls which get turned on by accident often when I'm working at the counter above the machine. It's extremely quiet, and does such a great job cleaning the dishes that I've stopped pre washing them which was necessary with my old noisy GE Profile maching
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quiet

A few months after having the dishwasher, I discovered that the automatic rinse aid dispenser was dispensing ALL of the solution at one time. I had ruined several Calphalon skillets before realizing the problem. Since it was under warranty, a repairmen replaced the parts necessary to make it work properly.
It worked for about 3 months - long enough for the warranty to expire. Then, it stopped again!!
In my opinion, this dishwasher is a piece of junk
Cons: poor quality of automatice rinse aid dispenser
