This dishwasher is so quiet that I can barely hear it. It even cleans baked-on egg from utensils. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Pros: Performance, utinsil basket has option of close sections, easy to use
Cons: top rack doesn't hold as much as old dishwasher

The reviews I read prior to purchase had me a little concerned but Kitchenaid may have got the kinks ironed out as so far my dishwasher is everything I had hoped it to be.
I highly suggest the stainless steel interior. It definitely assists in drying the dishes. The scrubber settings are awesome.
We have an open kitchen / living area and the dishwasher is rarely heard.
Noise would be a deal breaker for my husband.
I can't say long tern whether this is the dishwasher of my dreams but for now I am very happy. (1 month use)

I've owned KitchenAide products for more than 20 yrs and I believe this dishwasher has been the best of the best. I've had it now for almost six months, I bake, cook, concoct and I know at the end of the day this very quiet machine will make all my dishes, pots, pans, cookware spotless. It was worth the little extra it cost because of the brand quality that came with this product. I love it.

Cons: none - this is a winner.

Replaced a 20 some year old KitchenAid dishwasher with this one. There are many cycles that can be used on this machine. The one cycle used the most is the 1 hour wash cycle with Cascade gel in combination with Jet Dry. The dishes come out clean with no spots on the glasses. After washing prop the door open to let the steam out and air dry the dishes. Quick and easy and the least amount of energy used. This machine handles more dishes than our old KichenAid.

Cons: None so far

My dishwasher is 3 years old, and within the first 6 six months pieces started breaking off the racking system. I now have zip ties to hold my top rack together. For the money I was shocked what a horrible product this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
