For one thing it's made in America! That's was a big plus for us in the decision. We have high ceilings so we have echos, but this dish washer is very quite.

One problem we have found is with the utensil holder. The racks will not stay in place. We like the utensil slots, however they are frustrating.
When we close the door all the way we often inadvertently touch and turn on the one or more of the buttons on the control panel. Gradually were are training ourselves to leave the door open slightly.

Great dishwasher whisper quiet when on. Top shelf has great capacity. Have no complaints. Good job kitchen aid. This is my second purchase of kitchen aid. Sold the other one because I wanted stainless. Had the previous one over 15 yrs. Never needed a service call. Only replaced silverware basket.

The only possible design flaw is that it can inadvertently be turned on, due to the control panel being in front. Maybe having to push to start buttons on opposite sides would prevent that.

I bought a competitors product (GE) about 4 years ago. That dishwasher would not consistantly get the dishes clean. Frustrated I decided to replace this relatively new dishwasher. I researched (Consumers Report) and took a chance on the KitchenAid. It has been in service for 4 months and Wow what a great product ! It is quiet and the dishes come out clean "EVERY TIME". I would and have recommended KitchenAid to friends and famly. Best Dishwasher I have ever used
