Char-Broil CB940X all purpose charcoal grill.

I have had this CB940X for about 10 years but have cooked on one for about 30 years. From smoking cheese at about 90F degrees to cooking larger cuts like brisket and pork butts at about 250F-275F degrees using a fuse burn, to cooking casseroles, poultry and other medium heat dishes at around 300f-375F degrees, and of course grilling on cast iron grates at above 625F degrees, this grill will just flat do it all!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Best Charcoal Grill Your Money Can Buy!

This Model is a made with quality long-lasting parts. It is of sturdy construction and made of cast iron materials built to last. I have used Char-Broil products for a number of years and their reliability is unparalleled. It has a tremendous ability to maintain the heat necessary throughout your cooking process. You will not be disappointed.
This model of grill (and the Performance Models) have been a part of our family for approx. 50 years. My father had this same charcoal grill when I was in elementary school. I am now 55 years old. The family memories surrounding this grill are very special to my family. I have fond memories sitting and watching my father man the charcoal, height of the charcoal fire, the wonderful smell, etc... My mouth is salivating now. Char-Broil has been such a tremendous staple in our family and has never disappointed us. I remember my father using an even earlier model that did not have a hood, but you still could adjust the height of the charcoal grate.
I now have the privilege to carry on this tradition and pass it down to my sons. I remember the day it arrived, I was the happiest person on earth. Both of them now help me man the BBQ as I am a 32 year-post spinal-cord injured quadriplegic. The style and height are perfect for my accessible needs. I continue to share the memories with them and am confident they will continue to be lifelong Char-Broil customers. We are so eager to use our grills that we have barbecued many meals during and after snowfall. Nothing gets between us and the use of our grills. We have both this model and the propane Performance model. Every time we fire up either of them... (my favorite is the 940X) it becomes a special occasion. The propane grill is great for speed and the charcoal creates an incredible event worth the extra preparation time.
Kudos to Char-Broil for making such incredible products. I know this family will continue to be life-long customers. Thank you, Char-Broil!

Problem with wheels.

All is fine but the smaller wheels are made of light weight plastic that can not move freely for such a heavy bbq. They broke off and I had to reorder two replacements. Here again incapable to sustain the weight and roll freely, so now I have to lift the bbq to move it along so they don't break off again. Other than that, its a good one.

My third CB940 and 940X

I have lived in my house 31+ years and just now purchased my third CB 940X. They are great charcoal BBQ's. They just need a stronger motor to turn big items like turkeys.
