We recently bought this printer Epson XP-610. Previously we had an Epson Stylus CX7400 series. We just loved it but after nearly 6 years of use it broke. This new printer does not print any clearer or better but is so much slower (agonizingly slow). Am I doing something wrong, is there some way to speed this process up? It is also quite a bit more difficult and time consuming to do a simple copy or scan.

My old printer died after 7 years of little use. The Epson xp-600 was given "best buy" rating on consumer report website. As I could not find that model in my area, and I needed a printer the same day I chose the 610. It set up easily and the print looks good. I expect it to perform well based on rating by consumer reports review of a similar model.

man, talk about less is more. this is my personal home computer but at the University of Texas@Austin where i've been employed the last 18 years, our creative department uses only Epson. we have a Epson pro9600 that's a jewel going on 10 years old. not a single technical/or mechanical problem.
i 'm EXPECTED QUALITY & I GOT WITH THE XP-610. Keep up the good work. lcs

Just Don't Get It!

It's been up and running just fine for 2 weeks. Now I had to change the cyan cartridge. O.K. - warranted, I did that. The printer keeps telling me to change the cyan cartridge. It's in there firmly - rechecked 3 times. Now what???? It won't even print black and white unless I "change the cartridge". (Frustrated!)

TTHIS IS A WONDER OF A FAST PRINTER...BUT!! THE PULL OUT LOADING TRAYS ARE A REAL PAIN. THE SMALL PAPER TRAY IS KIND OF SILLY,ALSO THE PRINTER SETS TOO LOW ON YOUR DESK AND HAS TO BE RAISED UP TO PULL OUT THE TRAY. SOFTWHARE HAS NO ESAY PRINT BUTTON TO PRINT A WEBPAGE OR EMAILS...KIN OF DUMB. I WILL RETURN IT FOR A NOTHER BRAND THAT IS EASYER TO USE.

Works but A Hassle to Use

I bought the printer for its scanner, which works fine, but the printer itself jambs frequently and I wouldn't trust it with more than five pages all at once. The ink also runs out extremely fast. However, all these things would be manageable if not for the problem of the jack for the cable that plugs into an outlet. This jack is worthless and doesn't stay connected without twenty odd bits of paper stuffed into the odd, non-standard recess around it in order to hold the cable in. Even with paper there, it has to be fussed with every time the printer is turned on. I am frequently frustrated by this product and may end up returning it.

It's a pretty smart printer in a little package. Took a bit of time to install but overall it is good. I needed help setting it up.
