It took about two and a half hours to get the printer running. The program disc that came with the printer was not up to-date re the latest operating version on my mini-mac.

Setting up this printer has been a diasater. Directions are sparse to nonexistant. Which is the output tray, where are the tray numbers, give some hint of the control window, whats on it. The manual on the website is so tiny a magnifing glass is no help. Never got the output of the test page.

Attempting to setup Epson Connect on a Mac OSX system. Followed the instructions and "downloaded" the software and was not able to proceed any further.. did not show next steps as mentioned in the setup sheet and could not get Epson Connect to work.
Need an 800 phone number for support to talk to someone.

Eats ink like crazy

The printer itself is a good unit as far as function and output, but I am constantly replacing cartridges - more than any other printer I have ever owned. It also needs to have the head cleaned more often than I am used to, though we don't use it often. The biggest annoyance though is that you cannot print using the black only cartridge if you have any color cartridge that is out. This printer could be a 5 if it wasn't for the ink issues, which drives up the cost of operation to ridiculous.

This is the worst piece of junk I ever bought. It always runs out of ink about every two months. It is always having at attitude with me and beeps at me with error codes every time I turn the dang thing on! There is so many problems is this thing. Buy something that isn't this expensive so that when it gives you an error code you will not feel guilty for throwing the thing out the window.

I have only just set this printer up, but it was by far the easiest set up I have encountered with a printer. The only downside is that the control panel on the ptr is super sensitive to touch, but that's ok once you figure that out.

Installation problems.

This is the first Epson printer I have bought in many years and it generally does a good job for its design. The installation was difficult, more so than other products I use. It took most of two days to get my computer to recognize the XP-510 and the Wi-Fi was difficult. A password is asked for in the installation, I finally realized that the reason the password was invalid because thru trial and error, what was really required was the WPA2 key. Took two tries with the CD software and much clicking to finally get my computer to recognize and accept the Wi-Fi signal. I will use the printer for photos exclusively and have heard it is the best on the market for that.
