All Espons Are Poorly Made

The look of this epson is nice, as are most of there products. But, beyond the outside beauty they are poorly made machines designed to make the consumer spend unnecessary money on ink. You can't not nuse an epson to only print in black ink if the other color inks cartridges are not filled. Epson is not consumer oriented. Beware!

going downhill

I have used Epson printers for the last 15 years (or more) and my Artisan 50 finally went south after 5-6 years of faithful service. I am shocked at how far Epson has fallen.
strike 1: Overall cheap feel.
strike 2: Only 4 cartridges? (I'm counting the 2 blacks as 1) That is a step backward, IMO. And they are difficult to install and very small.
strike 3: Paper now feeds from bottom tray and must bend in half to print ... which limits paper types. What was wrong with the rear-feed, straight paper path?
strike 4: output tray is awkward and, to put it bluntly, a pain in the rear.
strike 5: set-up took multiple tries to get it installed and up and running.
strike 6: ink level after just a few days was alarmingly low.
Print quality was okay but nothing special. Never used the scanner or fax .... don't need a fax and have a perfectly good Epson perfection v500 scanner.
Six strikes and it was out. I returned it and purchased a printer from a competitor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sadly Disappointed

I truly love Epson products. I have purchased their products for over 20 years. The XP-610 is a disappointment. The overall design and mechanics of it were not well thought out. The paper trays are very sensitive to the amount of sheets that are placed in them. 1 or two sheets too many and it causes a malfunction. I would suggest any other Epson printer for home use. The 610 is defiantly not a contender for business use.

Poor choice

I HATE this printer! It is difficult to use, unreliable, and runs out of ink WAY too soon, requiring far more ink than my previous printer did. I would never buy another Epson.

XP610 good printer!

I like the Epson XP610, black prints and Color photos are good. However, I cannot enlarge a picture or a document. Is this machine able to enlarge? I cannot find the instructions to enlarge. IF you know how please let me know. Otherwise the printer is very good. I have liked Epson for many years.

Extremely Confusing Installation

Poor explanations on installation; despite obvious connection of USB cable to computer the Scan feature will not work, telling me the USB cable is not connected to computer, also Fax connection from printer to phone is not readily found and ink cartridges show reorder necessary after printing only 1 black and white photo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
