I've just completed installation, and all functions seem now to be in working order. Very nice photo prints. But I must say, the installation was a nightmare. For example, I was not told when to connect the printer to the computer with the USB cable (I chose the direct hook-up, not wireless). After numerous installations from the CD, I went on line to do a manual installation. The Start Here page and the Quick Guide are most inadequate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor quality

After the first cartridge change the quality was poor, even after several nozzle cleanse it could not be fixed, the entire new cartridge was depleted after test prints

Very frustrating

This review only reflects the instructions and set-up for the epson xp-610 so it would be unfair to give it under a 3 star review.
I realize this is the computer age and I haven't purchased a printer since my last epson photo rx620 but this is frustrating. Epson has almost totally given up on a half-decent printer guide. They have a quick guide and a "start here" guide and neither one of them mention where the printed paper will eminate from...not even a picture of it. So when I received a message explaining why I couldn't print anything, it basically said that something was "blocking" the exit of the printer. After spending an hour reading all the so-called quick guides, (an hour is not very quick) which mentioned Cassette 1 and Casette 2 which I found really odd, since forever they've been called "trays" they made no mention of Cassette 3 (I made that one up, it's called an "output tray" although it extends out like the other two "cassettes") I called the store I purchased it from and after trying to explain my dilemma we figured out what was going on, which was that the "tray" was not only somewhat hidden but it was not extended outward to "catch" the paper and therefore not allowing the printer to print because it was blocking itself. Now that I've seen it print I realize it must be extended outward but it was never mentioned.
This was only one example, the general criticism is that none of the guides are that helpful because they lack clarity and specificity of a real step by step approach. Also, what happened to the days of a real full manual (not guide) in your hands to thumb through. Even on-line under "solving paper problems" and "paper ejection problems" there was no listing for my problem. Is everything gone on-line and the old manual in-hand given up for the mighty buck.
I'm hoping that now that I'm finally set-up that my printing experience will make me forget this poor start.

I do not like this printer. It only prints part of the time and it takes a long time for it to even print. Another flaw with this product is the small amount of ink in the printer and refills. After only printing 4 pages, i started getting messages that I needed to order more ink, that my ink was getting low. I have only printed 3 photos and about 15 pages of print. Now the printer refuses to work at all because it is already out of ink. I am not happy.

purchased printer because was rated best for photos (does produce excellent photos). very slow reaction to commands, cancel takes forever and can't tell if it has accepted command or not. if you don't print lots of photos it is worth price.

even thou all the printer cartridges as separate ... I go though them way to fast - Disappointed in the performance of the printer - and the cost associated with it.

Great prints!

Easy set up. Wireless setup. Amazingly clear color prints from documents to pictures. Small footprint with great output. Prints pictures envelopes and even cd's and dvd's! Cost per page is low. Low ink consumption on warm ups and cleanings. After plenty of research we found this printer to be best the bargain. Rated a best buy on a leading consumer research site and magazine.

Well so far I love my printer . I had a 600 and had it for about 6 months when power died on it. Hope to have better luck this time around. I have always stood by Epson and truly hope that this printer lasts. The print quality is like no other, and the ease of Wi-Fi setup as well as use is extremely easy. I would recommend this printer to home and business use to anyone wanting a high quality printer at a reasonable price.
