It is good for protecting, but not good for...

It is very strong and can probably protect your iPad against a fall from the Empire State Building, but there is one problem, You cannot get the case off,I have 2 black spots under the screen protector that I need to come off, but I can't. I have watched countless videos showing how to do it, the first part is easy, but than when you have to remove the safety clips or whatever, you literally cannot do it. I have used everything from butter knives to screw drivers, but it won't budge, in one video it took 2 people with 4 knives to get 4 clips undone on their case, my case has 8 clips, so once it is on, it will NEVER come off. If it did come off I would rate it 5/5 stars, so keep that in mind with this product. Thank you for reading and please keep this into consideration when using this case.
Pros: Durable
Cons: cant get case off ever

This thing is horrible!

I bought it. Was too heavy so I wanted to take it off for a while. So hard to take off I scratched my iPad getting it off. When I was ready to put it back on it cracked on either side. After a while wanted it off again. Just too heavy. Broke my thumb nail to the skin trying to open it. When it was open the cracked places basically ripped apart. In trash now. Too expensive, too heavy, too stiff. Disappointed. The end.
Cons: Not durable, too hard to put on and remove, plastic too stiff and rigid, defeats purpose of having an ipad air
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Men otter box you guys have great stuff 30mph and run over by a car and not a mark. Then your customer support is beyond any I have seen friendly helpful fast every body could learn from you guys am a otter box fan for life if you had stickers I would put it on my car. You guys are great

False security

Thought this was great for the first 2 months, and then I look the other day and notice a crack in the top corner of the screen. As I remove the case to look if it was just a crack in the plastic covering I notice that the Ipad cracked under the Defender series. I put it on 2 months ago and have not taken it off until now. There has not been a large drop, maybe from a foot or two, when I am sitting on the floor reading on it. But NOTHING that has happened that would make me look to see if there was any damage. I bought the one for the Kindle for my daughter, but I am honestly debating on returning it and trying something new. If you are still cautious and there are very minor bumps that this works.
Pros: High quality
Cons: Not durable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NOT LIFEPROOF!

The otterbox that I had purchased did not protect regular wear and tear. My 45 lbs. son sat on it in the car and the iPad bent in half. The iPad is damaged to a point where I have to replace both Otterbox and iPad. The Otterbox screen shattered even when I had the shield on the iPad. The shell did bend in half and the iPad, which was inside all of the "protection" cases for the device, has more damage than the otterbox.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
