Love phone, but poor battery life and too highly sensitive touch screen..

I have the Galaxy S, Model SCH-i1500, with Firmware 2.2.1, Hardware version I500-04. I have had the phone for about one year. It is a great phone with many nice features. The main down side is the battery life, which is always a problem. I can stop all applications, set the phone on my night stand and it will self load all sorts of applications and run them until the battery is dead. Happens all the time. The other annoyance is the sensitivity of the touch screen. If I type in something and get a bit lazy and let my fingers get near the screen, the phone will go off and do something stupid. The good part about the phone is the super GPS system and the clear speech of the 'directions giver'. Also I like it calling out the street name when telling me to turn, etc. A great alarm clock that is easy to set. It has an ok camera, but use is not intuitive. The phone is small with a big bright screen.The case is very cool and does not damage easily. All in all I love the phone, but maybe I should have waited for the Galaxy S III, which may have addressed some of the problems I have described. Nevertheless, thanks Samsung ... you done good.

Cons: bad battery life, touch scrn too sensitive

my first smartphone

this is my first touch screen smartphone, it fairly easy to figure out basic controls. the only thing im having trouble with is sending text messages. shouldnt i be able to use my home wifi connection and send text.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Lightweight

I really liked this phone from Verizon. I had to wait to get this phone when I first got it. Ever since than Verizon let me down with skipping Samsung GS2 and Note. I'm need to upgrade, but I want Samsung galaxy S3 in Quad core Exnos chip for U.S. If you put duel cord for U.S. carrier I will not buy S3.

I really love this phone, love the screen size and feel the general use of the phone is pretty easy to manage.
I've read a lot about battery life, and while that is a slight issue, I haven't seen that be a show stopper for me.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color

The phone is so light and slim, but the best is all the stuff it can do. My first one was ran over but insted of changing Phones I got this one again. I even got one for my mother and sister and they love it. As for Samsung, well the are the best hands down. Thanks Samsung. Scott

Durable, but slow

At first, I had no problems with this phone. It performed beyond my expectations. It took some decent abuse during work but has never cracked or broke in any way. The memory got filled up really quick from apps and pictures. It now randomly freezes and restarts. I even missed work a couple times due to it restarting in the middle of the night and killing my alarm clock.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: performance is bad after time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
