It was a beautiful phone, that's what swayed my decision to purchase. Unfortunately had to replace it 4 times, for usually the same problems...Poor Battery life, images burned into the screen, terrible signal strength.
The worst part is these problems are common and are known to the retailers who sell them and still sold this..
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor battery life, poor signal strength
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone can be really slow, most of the time actually. If you do not have a good 3g connection, the slowness is gonna kill you. And it lags.. a lot. things keep timing out and making me force a close on things. It gets really annoying. You definitely want a 4g phone. This phone has too much buffering and loading time, for everything! I mean sure it has lots of cool features, i like the apps, but i cant take the slowness of the phone. And i see so many people say the battery life is long. Not really people, it last 8 hours at most. maybe its just me, but i don't even use the phone that much of the day and it still doesn't last long. There is so many other better phones, don't go with this one.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, slow, low battery, lags
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had 3 Samsung Facinate cell phones now and every one starts out good but within a few weeks there seems to always be a problem, the phone will freeze up, the calls show its going through, but it wont ring, it will tell me it has to force close out of applications that are not even open or that i'm using and the touch screen doesn't always work. When I try to charge it in the car via a car charger it will say the battery is fully charged when its completely dead and wont charge at all, and the update I installed on it makes it so that when usb is connected in the car it wont let me make calls, it wants to transfer all my info to a storage, if I decline, it will shut off the phone. The phone is feature packed and I love how it can basically do everything a computer can, but I have not had a good experience with any of the devices that i've owned.
This phone is absolutely fantastic. I use it to watch TV and movies. Ease has been great. I only have one thing that is a negative and that when it comes to organizing your aps, its not user friendly but other than that, its perfection at it's best.
Cons: not able to organize aps in a friendly manner
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost Perfect But

Absolutely beautiful screen and all the features most users, including myself, would want. My only complaint is that it doesn't do the most basic function very well. About a quarter of my incoming phone calls go directly to my voice mail without the phone ringing and about 1 in every 5 or 6 phone calls gets dropped. Samsung is supposed to be "working" on it. Batttery life is less than optimal but more than sufficient for most people.
After 8 months of ownership, this is still my favorite 3G Verizon Phone!

Between my co-workers, friends and family, I have spent some time tinkering with the better Smart Phones on the Verizon, ATT and Sprint networks. My personal feeling is that the Fascinate is the best Android phone available. The upgrade to the 2.1 operating system pushed it passed the Android phones offered by other manufacturers. The only Smart Phone that I think is more well-rounded is the I Phone 4. I’m not an Apple guy, but I have to acknowledge my position.
This phone was wonderful at first. Then the screen started to crackle and look like a static tv. It makes it very difficult to use the phone when the screen doesn't come on.
This is my 3rd smartphone. Previous were the Palm Treo 650, and Palm Centro. (The Treo was twice the phone that the Centro was.) I was bummed to not have a follow-on Treo to upgrade to.
The features and apps are interesting and numerous. What I am hoping for in the next model is a screen that is bright enough to see when I am in bright sunlight, and either a longer lasting battery or some way the system alerts me that there are apps running my battery down needlessly. I have found an app killer that shuts down a default list of apps that is fully adjustable in terms of which apps get killed when you select Kill Apps. Also, an adjustment for screen sensitivity would be wonderful. I am having quite a time keeping from typing/selecting by accident.
Swype is a cool app, and should be included as part of the phone package on all smartphones with touchscreen keyboards.
It is bigger than the iphone, which may be better for some users. It's just a little too big for many of my pant pockets, and the rubber material on the protector tends to stick to my pockets also. So I suggest a hard cover if you plan to purchase one... and will be keeping yours in your pocket much of the time.
The zoom on the camera / video recorder is worthless. Digital zoom loses clarity quickly. So plan on using both up close - not from a distance away from your photo or movie subject.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, Too big, touchscreen too sensitive, apps running in background wear down battery quick, hard to read/see in sunny conditions
