Smooth transition to touch screen

I have had the Fascinate for about a week now and all my fears about going to a full touch screen (without keyboard) have gone away. I am replacing a Blackberry with no touch screen capabilities at all.
This phone is simply amazing. The virtual keyboard is much easier than I thought it would be. I do find that using the larger keyboard when the phone is turned on its side is much easier. I am 6' 4" and have big hands, but the keyboard works really well for me.
I may not be the best judge of how this compares to other droid phones since having a Blackberry for many years. Having said that, the e-mail was a snap to set up, both corporate and personal. The apps are fantastic and the presentation is just amazing.
If you are still hanging onto a keyboard, don't! This is worth the switch.
The phone gets terrible reception. It never tells me when I have new e-mails, facebook notifications, or anything. The call quality is poor, and the phones glitches a lot. Needs major updates to fix these problems.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung Fascinate

I've had the phone for one week. The fact that it doesn't have the full Flash v10 player is an issue. There are videos and web sites that won't play. The Android 2.1 with Flash Lite v9.1 is not acceptable to me. Samsung needs to update their operating system with the full Flash v10. It would be nice to get Android 2.2 (or 2.3 if available) pushed to us ASAP.
This is a great phone. I am extremely satisfied with the battery life and the overall performance. The "con" of this phone is the lag in the updating of the Android OS. I would like to get updates in an adequate time frame....not 2 updates behind.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, battery life
Cons: updating
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had this phone for about a month. Not one problem or issue. This phone makes the droid models, with all their issues, seem pathetic.
Let me tell you! No one comments enough about the good, you always hear about the ugly. So let me toot Samsung's horn for them, I had the blackberry storm 1 before I got this phone about a week ago. OMG! I never knew a smartphone was suppose to be smart lol. I absolutely hated the Blackberry, it was a bad investment, this was 10 times better!
Pros: Bright display
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost every phone I have had before this one has had problems, which made me get it replaced around 5 or 6 times each. I have yet to have a problem with this phone. It has everything I need and more. No complaints besides not having 2.2 or 2.3 :(
