I just made the switch to a smart phone... Obviously I saw the pros of having an iphone years ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to buying an apple. (No memory cards) I liked the android phones, but felt they were too big (thick) and bulky. The fascinate, I feel, is the best smart phone out right now. It could use a few more features, and obviously the new 2.2 update. But the only real drawback I see is the battery life. Other than that this phone is arguably better than the iphone.
Cons: battery life, no xenon flash, no camera lens cover
I would recommend this to a friend!

A very good phone. My third smart-phone in last 8 years.
comment to Samsung. You should furnish a "FULL_PRINTED" instruction manual with each phone rather than having to download one from your web site. Jimsk

This phone is okay, but nothing special

Overall, this phone is mediocre. The performance is pretty slow compared to a droid x, even though this phone has better hardware. This phone also gets terrible battery life because of the AMOLED screen. If you root and install roms, then this phone gets much better. You can even get the Gingerbread update before Samsung will ever release Froyo.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, stuck on android 2.1
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than iPhone

Screen is great, and just the right size. Easy set up and use, UI is great, much better that iphone.
If you want the iphone experience but want to stick with droid, you should get the fascinate. This phone has turned out to be better than the iphone in many ways.
Only Con is that samsung really needs to get this updated to froyo or gingerbread updates.
I like the phone, I have had it activated for about 3 weeks and I have had to turn off/on twice because the screen freezes. I do not like the fact that when I attach my data cable it unmounts the micro sd card. Or the fact that I have to take off the back of the phone to get to the micro sd card. That is a real big headache for me. That is a major drawback for this nice phone.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, micro sd card under back cover
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had the phone for about 3 months now, and it does it's job; for the most part. I added 2 email accounts, and my facebook account. I don't recieve notifications that often for these accounts. Some days, I'll get a notification every 2 or 3 minutes it seems, and then the next day I won't get anything, but can login to my email and have 25 new emails. And I HATE that this phone doesn't have a LED indicator; well I don't know if it has one that doesn't work, or just doesn't have one at all, but I like having one. I do get the occasional dropped call also. These cons are annoying, but there are plenty of pros to the phone as well.
This is my first time having a smart phone and I have to say that I am in love. Many of my friends and family have had smart phones for awhile including the iPhone or Droid phones and all of them liked mine better. I have had the phone for about 3 weeks and so far everything has been perfect. The phone froze one time and I had to take the battery out, but other than that I have not seen any problems. I can run the music player for hours and the battery will hardly decrease. The screen is amazingly vivid and games and videos are enjoyable to watch. Overall I give this phone two thumbs up :)
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, battery life, music player
Cons: bing default seach engine
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone is by far the best smart phone I used (iphone 4 included). It is very fast, responsive and works for the most part as designed. However, it has some flaws that made me knock off one star
-> No Froyo update for Verizon Fascinate (no Flash, latest apps are not compatible) -> Very slow/onconsistent GPS lock -> Bing on Google? (Verizons fault) -> Useless bloatware that can not be un-installed (Verizons fault, again) -> Random lockups -> No Front-Facing Camera -> Bluetooth audio does not work when audio-out is plugged in -> Backlight settings don't apply to keypad. UI could provide some more customization for power users -> Poor antenna (applies to most smartphones). My E815 works well in elevators, this one does not, no matter how I hold it -> Glass is weak (not scratch resistant) -> Average battery life (but so is the case with most smartphones) -> email client can be better -> alarm clock/calendar can be better -> No TV out?!?
