Super AMOLED is amazing.

This phone is amazing.... My first smart phone... First touch screen and I am blown away....
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, super amoled, 720p hd video capture, 16gb sd card, clear reception
Cons: late froyo 2.2 update

This phone is simply amazing. Fast, reliable, beautiful display, multi touch, HD video, super low price, works better and faster then all my friends iPhones...
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no camera on screen side

Great but could be better

The phone is great. The swype texting is great and the main components of the phone work great like the mobile wi-fi hot spot. The android update needs to come out soon though. The phone still runs android 2.1, while the 2.3 (Gingerbread) update was just released for other models. I understand testing takes time as I am a programmer myself but this is rediculous. This is taking too long and a definitive window of release for the update needs to be determined. One other thing that needs to be fixed is the GPS, on average it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to accquire a fix to 20 meters. This is rediculous. This must be addressed in the update.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: needs android software update!

LOVE this phone!

I'll start with the one big negative. It has no exterior indicator that tells you there is a message or a missed call! huh?
Nevertheless, I still love this phone.... The software in this phone is fabulous. It is such an improvement over the Eris that I had. The Swipe technique for using the QWERTY keyboard is amazing. More should be made about it in the advertising for the Fascinate. And I can go right to Task Manager and see what programs are running in the background, then turn off any or all of them to save battery power. Unlocking the phone is simple and allows me to go right to a program for immediate use. In other words, with one light stroke I can answer a call OR read a message. I don't have to go through layers to get that done. And the touch screen is whisper sensitive. This phone is such a pleasure to use.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, great software, incredibly easy keyboard
Cons: no exterior missed call alert

Software is disappointing

The forced use of Bing as the search provider severely reduces the enjoyability of this phone.
The default bookmarks are locked from normal deletion, which I take as a sign of bad faith.
Bundled apps cannot be removed.
For hardware so advanced, this phone uses a very old version of Android.

This is a great Smartphone

Even though this is a great Smartphone I can't recomended to a friend. Samsung is always really late updating the phones software. I'm still running Android 2.1 and Samsung have said in the past that we would get Android 2.2 (Froyo) by years end.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, samsung is really bad with updates

Not happy with the fact that it is still running android 2.1

I was sold on the fact that it had more computing power and had swype capability. Was not happy to learn that it was still running android 2.1 and can't get any idea as to when the update will be available.

great phone but many many bugs.

I bought my phone in early Oct. I loved the phone when I first got it, but as I have had it now for close to 3 months the bugs are coming out. 1, the first week that I had it the phone automatically resent all of my texts messages that i sent the week before, in one massive bulk text message. 2. the phone erases all of your text msgs out of nowhere with out any warning or confirmation. 3. THE GPS DOES NOT WORK!!!! PLS FIX IT SAMSUNG, i paid a lot of money for a phone that doesn't know where its at!
