I really like this phone. It's lightweight, has excellent features, and it's easy to use.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, lots of features
Cons: no front facing camera

Would be perfect with Android 2.2

This is a fantastic phone, and well worth the price paid for it. I would even be willing to pay more than I did. The screen is better than most any screen on any touch screen device I have owned, with brilliant colors and fantastic depth to the images. Watching movies on this device is almost like watching high def movies on my iPhone. The only let down is that it is Android 2.1 and not 2.2. With the variety of phones out there now with 2.2, it really feels a little like a let down at first, but now that I have had it for a week, I really dont notice it too much. It comes with Flash Lite, so that is a plus. The camera features are a little confusing to get used to, but still excellent. The lack of a tactile button to use the camera feels a little off, but again, easy to get used to.
Honestly this phone is perfect minus the lack of 2.2. I am really hoping they get this sorted soon as the amount of phones with 2.2 available are really making this one a hard sell.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, great screen size
Cons: not android 2.2
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone would be a great phone if Samsung would update the operating system to 2.2 or higher there are new apps that only work on 2.2 or higher.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, needs android 2.2

Where is 2.2 or 2.3

This phone is crippled due to the fact that it is still running 2.1 Android OS. I would caution anyone from purchasing this phone until someone can pinpoint when and if it will get an updated OS, Also Touchwiz looks elementary and could use refining.

I have the fascinate for about 4 days now. The main reason I wanted a smartphone was to have a larger high resolution replace a screen. I like taking pictures and I though that a smartphone with a 5MP or greater camera would bulky point a shoot camera. This phone is very intuitive and use to use. I like the task bar on the bottom of the phone where I can keep the application I use the most. The task bar default has the following icons. Phone, contacts, messaging and applications. I find it very convenient. This phone has a fast processor and it connects to the web and e-mail quickly. The “buddies now” is a nice feature, which is the contact with the pictures of each contact, making it easier to identify our buddies.
Now the camera, which is the strongest point of interest to me, I would consider mediocre. For a five megapixel, I expected better pictures, clearer and less grainy. It also, does not take advantage of the full screen, it is short of comparing it to a television with 4:3 screen and a 16:9 screen. The camera does not offer enough adjustment to improve the picture. In summary, I like the user-friendly interface of the phone, but I dislike the camera. My wife has the HTC incredible, which has a 3.7” screen instead of a 4” of the fascinate. But the incredible has and 8MP camera, which fill the screen on every shot and a crystal clear pictures, bright and nice colors. I just wished the fascinate would have such a camera. Go figures, Samsung builds very good cameras, but not on its phones.

EPIC 4G......Best Phone Ever!!

I have had several smart phones but the Epic is by far, the best phone yet. It's performance: signal capabilities, features, size, screen clarity and its ease of web browsing. What a concept, you can actually read your emails and web pages on this phone as easy as if you were sitting at your computer. What can I say but WOW!
As we know, nothing is ever perfect. The only thing I wish were different was the battery. Although it does last the better part of the day. With a lot of use it drains faster than I wish. I wish it would last longer. But it still is the best phone I have ever seen. Just means, I carry a spare battery.
I previously had an HTC window based phone and it had to be replaced 3 times in a very short time. I should have switched to an Android phone a long time ago. The EPIC surpasses everything about the Blackberries and Window based phones in every way. Apps are a breeze to find and add unlike the window based ones which are a royal pain to locate and install.
I never write reviews on anything, so for me to write this one is so out of the norm...but then the EPIC is also so out of the norm. Basically if you are tired of all the issues that come with those other phones, do yourself a HUGE favor and go with Android and the EPIC 4G.
My husband has had a Samsung phone and would not give it up even for all the bells and whistles that have become available on phones in the last several years. He held on to his old reliable Samsung and used the same one for about 6 years until he was forced to upgrade. And he went to another Samsung.. But, when he saw what my EPIC could do and well it worked, well, (hehe) he had me order him one.
Thank you SAMSUNG for another great product!!
The Samsung EPIC 4G ROCKS!!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy interface, mp3's sound great, it's not window based, full qwerty keyboard, android market place, large display, clear speakerphone, camera takes great pictues, built in flash for camera, *7* customizable home screens
Cons: cant install skype
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love everything about this phone

Finally a smart phone that also works well as a phone. PRevious Samsung Omnia was nice, but very slow and was a terrible phone. So far after about two weeks of owning the Fascinate, I haven't found anything I don't like.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

i thought i wanted an iphone after owning a blackberry for 8 years. sales people recommended the fascinate and i am ecstatic. easy to use and awesome features.
