I was in the market for an Android phone and was checking every one of them my carrier provides. I had settled on a Droid2 but when I went to purchase one for my wife and one for myself, there was only one left. The slide out keyboard being an issue for my wife, I started playing with some of the other phones and ultimately settled on the Fascinate. I am very happy I did!
The screen is fantastic, learning to navigate through its menus was easy, and the weight and feel of it is perfect. The only downside is the exclusion of Android 2.2, but hopefully the update will be forthcoming soon.
All in all, a very good device and I am finally happy with a cell phone.
Pros: Bright display, ease of use, samsung widgets
Cons: not running android 2.2
I would recommend this to a friend!

I couldn't be happier with this phone. It does everything, better than any other I've owned or considered purchasing.
I've had it now for 2 months and am absolutely in love with it. I'll never go back to blackberry. My only issues are the price, but then it's no different than the competition so that is what it is. The other issue is on very rare occasions the phone seems to hang for 2 or 3 seconds while starting an app. No big deal, just a little annoying and it doesn't seem to be any specific app. Also, it seems the GPS doesn't want to sync with any satellites. Still looking into that one.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, extended battery available
Cons: car and desk doc do not support extended battery
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone held back by lack of Android 2.2 update. Once the update is released and Adobe Flash is operative and the other benefits of the Android 2.2 OS are in place -5 Stars across the board!
Cons: needs android 2.2 update!!!

I have owned my fascinate for one week. I love the phone's features and the Android os, but the battery life is no good. I fully charged the battery before using, and the it barely lasted the first full day. I have to charge it every night. I keep it in hibernate mode as much as possible during the day, and it still needs charged every night. Very disappointing! The phone is great, but c'mon, give us a better battery!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I must say I was hesitant about switching from my Blackberry. I was comfortable with it and wasn't sure I would like a full touchscreen keyboard. I have to say that this phone blows away my Blackberry device! I actually love this touchscreen keyboard (the best I have experienced) and can cruise through texts and emails. I use the Android keyboard instead of Swype, but, many people love Swype.. personal preference there (nice to have the option).
The Camera is great and has advanced settings (ISO, White Balance, Focus, Continuous shooting, Panorama, ETC!). It also shoots rockin' HD video and the Fascinate's amazing 4" screen displays them beautifully..
Battery life is pretty good and will last all day, but, it will need a charge in the evening or following morning to get you through the next day (I also use it a lot!).
The phone is very customizable and with the huge Android Market out there, you can find an APP to do anything..
