The phone stopped working after they updated the software

I liked this phone when I first bought it. It was my first smart phone and I was able to figure it out after a little difficulty at first. Later, after less than a year, it went through an update and then it stopped working properly. It would shut off on its own and several of the functions would no longer work like they used to. I would get messages saying that I was connected to my computer when I didn't even have a cable attached to it. I got my phone company to replace it once and it worked better for a while and then it went back to its poor performance. There's nothing worse than having a phone shut off on its own and you don't even know that it did. After less than two years I switched to another manufacturer and haven't looked back. I would never recommend this phone to anyone.
Cons: stopped working, automatic unwanted shutoff
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love all of the features that Samsung has included in this phone. I really wish that they would include more widgets like a music, pictures, and calandar one. Performance is good, but Android 2.1 slows the phone down, 2.2 should fix this issue. I also really wish that there was an led notification light on this phone and the speaker phone could be louder. But all-in-all this phone has a beautiful, bright display, which is also very responsive. Processor is very snappy with the exception of a few hickups. Camera takes great pictures, both in the day and night. Really hope that Samsung supports this phone with future Android OS upgrades.

Bought four days ago. Was a hard decision to get Android or Apple. Decided on Android largely because I liked the sleek design and the sharp screen on this model. Probably would have purchased Apple if the idpod screen were bigger.
So far, so good. Good quality with phone. Apps easy to download. I can see my screen outside which is good if I need to call. I am sure I will have more to say when I have tried out more of the apps. I am really happy my decision so far, The screen is great. Battery life could be better, but what is new about that with smartphones.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really like this phone. Its fast, reliable and pretty awesome in general. In fact, I'm writing this review from the phone. Its by far my favorite phone yet. The only issue is I would like them to update the phone to 2.2. The 2.1 is fine but I would really like the update to 2.2 Froyo or even 2.3 Gingerbread. Other than that. The phone is amazing. I would definitely recommend it.

This is the most awesome phone I have ever owned !!!
The color on the screen is fabulous, connects to the internet
really quickly, It does everything. I just bought an I Pod touch the week before I bought this phone. The Samsung Fascinate does everything my i Pod does plus tons more. I'm selling the I Pod. I would recommend this phone to everyone!

Very intuative device, Easy to Understand Menus

I went to get this phone because I Have samsung products all thru my house. Fridge, TV, DVD burner, washer and dryer. I have not had any problems with any of my products to this date.>>When i went to get this phone. I was perplexed that this device did not come with a book..(the only bad thing) I had to download it from the samsung Website. I had to learn by trial and error. Needless to say there were no Errors. This phone is very easy to setup, configure, Manipulate, and use. I am what you would call a Techy. So my learning curve was pretty small. For normal people it may give them a little challenge at first but its walks you thru everything you may want to do. Easy to understand menus written for Non-Tech people, as well as Lots of online literature.. This is a great Buy...
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, easy to understand menus.
Cons: no user manual or link to one

fast CPU and great performance

This is a great and tough phone, Samsung makes a great product. The screen is bright and responsive and the Android app's are awesome. The only downside is that it appears the awesome screen draws the battery down quickly. Otherwise I love it! cannot wait for the galaxy s II.

I just got this phone, & so far I am absolutely THRILLED w/it. I decided on this particular model solely based on 2 friends who have it. This model is a replacement for another cell from another company which was a lemon from the start, & I haven't even had it a year!
I'm still learning the functions of it, but so far, I feel that I made the right decision in purchasing this one. Even the battery life, depending on your usage, is even better. I really can't think of any con other than there's no outside indicator/light that lets me know if I missed a txt or v.m. while I was away from the phone. But to me, that's such a minor thing. The clarity of the screen is just incredible, including the wallpaper it comes with. That in itself is astounding! The quality sound for conversations - excellent, when using ear buds for the music, again - excellent. Touch screen is very sensitive to response. In other words, it's a dream to use. My overall comparision of this phone vs my other one is like going from driving a semi to driving a Ferari. Smoothness abounds!
