What a shame
on October 22, 2010

Beautiful product, unfortunately useless to me and I'm sure to many others because of a stupid decision not to fully integrate it with Google (search). It's a shame, I would have bought it but now I am considering other phones like the HTC Incredible.
Cons: not integrated fully with google
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed

I bought an Android phone because I wanted the Google Apps. This phone comes with Bing as the search engine instead of Google Voicesearch. If I wanted to use Bing I would have bought a Windows Mobile phone. I can't believe Samsung would cut Google out as the search provider considering that's what Google does best.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, uses bing as default search engine, weak battery
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Phone

This is my first smartphone and I am TRULY impressed. The screen is very vibrant, and it is pretty easy to learn and understand. The only thing I found that I didn't like, which is very minimal, is that the charger plugs into the top of the phone vice the bottom. Other than that, GREAT PHONE!!!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: charger outlet at the top of the phone
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great phone - will not sync with MS Outlook

To be fair, we bought this phone for business and personal use. For the few days i had it I thought it was awesome. However while It will sync with gmail, it has absolutely no way to sync with MS Outlook. Yes, gmail has an app that will sync calendars with Outlook, but not contacts. I looked up other 3rd party apps and the reviews pretty much told me they were inconsistent at best. I am surprised that Samsung didn't build this functionality into the phone. (No sync to Lotus Notes available either). So, if you need it to sync with a desktop Outlook - keep looking. We ended up xchanging for an HTC Incredible. Jury's out yet...
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: sync with ms outlook

email feature is horrible
on September 24, 2010

I left blackberry for this phone and the one thing out of everything i needed to be glitch free was the email system and its the only thing has a major problem. the auto sync does not work, the email notification doesn't work, and it takes virtually forever to download attachments or long emails. Opening attachments can take what seems like forever as well. There are some smaller issues with sending text' quickly or finding your contacts quickly. other than that, its a great phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cannot download driver on PC so that files can be transferred. Tons of junk apps that are trying to sell you stuff that you cannot delete. Cool hardware design, but they ruined the phone with all of the junk. Does not operate like a regular Android phone should.
dont buy this phone if you utilize the calender for alerts/alarms

i love this phone , it totally competes w/the iphone's look and features but i was torn with giving it a 5 star rating because of a blemish. i was so upset to finally figure out that my calender alarm is non existent in silence mode. it took me restoring my phone to it's default setting per samsung and taking out the battery etc per verizon; to figure out that there is no such feature on this phone! for instance, i am sleep w/my phone in silent mode (don't want to be bothered by text, calls etc) however i do want to be alerted by a calender event ie: doc appt. well the stupid phone gives me a visual alert (how can i see that if im sleep) but not a sounding alarm in silent mode. how basic is this feature that samsung arbitrarily omitted w/o thinking of their customers. i use that pda/calendar for everything (i barely write anything down anymore). please please please fix this feature, i am contemplating getting my droid back. i also dont like the fact that i can't differ songs from incoming callers and texts ie; jay z is set for bob's incoming call (should be set for his incoming text too) not....all incoming text are one song (boring and basic), also please get the latest version of flashplayer to compete w/droid..heck should i just get my droid back!!!!
