Great value and design!

I bought this phone in January of this year and it was my first smart phone. It is so easy to navigate and use for first time smartphone users. I like everything about the phone except for the following:
Can't surf the internet while on a call (iphone only does)
Can't delete the existing apps on phone
Battery life is an issue with a lot of use.
Some updates are not good.

Beyond that the phone is a great one to get, it is light weight has good strong talk time, great images, great design, the cons I said above I'm sure will be available when the Galaxy 2 comes out soon.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, can't delete preexisting apps, can't be on a call and internet at same time
I would recommend this to a friend!

BEST smart phone I've ever owned AND used. I've had extensive experience with other smartphones, and this one is really the best overall phone offered today. Let me just say, compare this phone side by side to its biggest competitors, the Droid X and the iphone4 and you'll clearly see why. The screen is AMAZING! The color of the super AMOLED makes all the difference, I've had several Iphone4 users' jaws drop when they saw how much richer and better the Fascinate's screen looked compared to their own, how it was as thin as their phone, and had a bigger screen. The orientation of the phone is great, the processing power, etc. is great, also, faster than the Iphone4 for webuse and general use . Only real con, Samsung needs to go 2.2 ASAP!!!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, sleek, thin, touchwiz, perfect screen size
Cons: 2.1, bing!!!

I was excited about the release of the Fascinate. But my excitement soon waned once I actually got to use the phone. In short, Samsumg dropped the ball since this was supposed to be a high-end phone. Way too many bugs and idiosyncratic design failures. Most of the positive reviews so far for the Fascinate have been from users upgrading from other poorly designed "smartphones" so they were working from a low bar already. It's not alltogether a bad phone, but since it was designed to compete on the high-end side with the Droid (and soon the iphone) I cannot recommend this phone. Samsung usually makes quality products but this one missed the mark!
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor speaker quality, gps issues, calendar/appointment issues, no message indicator light, search function uses bing - not google!, camera's shutter button poorly placed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great phone. I had the droid 2 but this phone is a lot lighter and has a better layout. Great phone.

Great Phone! Fix these things though

There are a few things that need to be added to this phone when it gets android 2dot2. The hardkeys need to be able to set to stay illuminated longer. Its frustrating when they time out after about 5 seconds. I don't know if there is an indicator available. But it's aggitating not having an indicator light when I get a text or email. Also, I would like more options to change the interface. I got an android phone because I didn't want the iphone, and the interface of the fascinate is really similar to it.
Other than those things. I love the phone! The display is great and the phone is much smoother than the motorola droids. If I could get resolution to my issues I would definitely recomend this phone

My only con about this Great phone is that we have to wait for medai hub and 2.2 froyo for this diamond in the ruff to really shine,the bing thing was a quick fix and the bubbly ui is coo but sammy should have made it more mature or at least where u can customise it, thank u for crazy hm.I wish they would have came out with interchangeable back covers that would be nice light titanium or aluminum would have really made a statement!

Phone doesn't allow me to set caller ringtones, I had to download zedge or another app to do it, but then when you go to the mp3 to "set as" for your "caller ID" it only shows the contacts that are in your phone. So when you have 360 contacts synched in from Google, they aren't there, the only ones were #BAL, #MIN, etc. Spent all that time downloading ringtones for nothing.
Then the bluetooth file transfer hardly ever worked, even when it said connected files didn't go through, even small ones.
Then there is no shortcut to silence ALL sounds. That's a pretty handy feature when you go to meetings, conferences etc. You can silence your rings for calls, but messages and other notifications still come through.
I don't like pushing the side button and then still swiping the glass to unlock the phone (even if you disable a security code). The button should do it alone, you have to press it pretty hard anyway.
I set an alarm song for my morning alarm but it still played a generic alarm from the phone.
The speed is nice, the swype function is nice. But that's about it that worked for me.
I don't care for all the games that you can get from market place and all the pretty screens are nice but not necessary.
Give me short cuts, give me the ability to ignore some callers or messages by allowing me to set specific rings for them, and allow me to set better alarms for wake up calls.

This phone does everything! Beautiful color and the camera takes awsome pics. I would like a little more customization with the calendars, I use it for personal & business.
