Samsung Fascinate

The display on the phone is unbelievable, I mean great. The operation is very intuitive, the size is very good compared to the other Droid phones.
Really I have not found anything about this phone that I don't like.
Android smart phone manufactures should develop and provide an application that would allow the user to connect this phone to a TV to play streaming video from the internet.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Android 2.2 Update Is Needed
on October 23, 2010

My only complaint about this phone is that it is running bing search, it doesnt come pre-installed with google maps with navigation, and there is no android 2.2 update as of now (10/23/10) which should come soon. Because the google maps problem can be solved by downloading google maps from the android market, that's taked care of easily and the android 2.2 update will bring a google wigit and choice of google search to complete this google phone. Although there are only a few cons and they are sort of big, the pros are so much more and more important that it shouldn't stop you from getting the phone now and updating your phone when froyo comes out. When froyo comes out it will be the best smartphone out there, in my opinion, and is already one of the best.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, fast, good colors, good call quality
Cons: no android 2.2 yet
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor signal
on November 14, 2010
Posted by: Dantie
This phone is worthless for 3g mobile hotspot function.
The signal is weak. One to two bars or less. I have a friend who came to my house with a Droid2 (Motorola). He got 4 bars and hotspot worked great. I took my phone to his house and had the same problem, only one bar.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, very poor signal reception, not good for 3g hotsput
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fascinate w Verizon after 2 months

Generally pretty good. I really liked the Desk Cradle view (digital clock horizontal view) and purchased 2 charge cradles for desk and kitchen. However after 2 months, I am starting to see significant "screen burn in" such that when i am using the browser for other searches, the ghosted image of the desk cradle view is super imposed. And I suspect it will progressively get worse. Generally seems pretty quick although it has less Ram than the HTC droid.
Main other bummer is the OS upgrade delay to 2.2
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, good camera
Cons: screen burn in (desk cradle image)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this phone about a month ago and can not find one thing as of this day that I do not like! Super easy to use, takes the best pics and videos. Never freezes up like my blackberry did. Glad I switched. It's a keeper! Samsung Fascinate rules! Love it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Why Can't I Personalize MY phone . . . I thought this was an open source phone
on February 23, 2011
Posted by: CaptainsLog
The default search provider, which I am not allowed to write here in this review, according to your guidelines, is only okay, but not nearly as advanced and easy to use as the one provided by the maker your operating system. Why, why, why do you make it soooooooo hard to switch search providers and app providers. We're talking open source here and you are forcing me into Bi-ng.
And why can't I delete the sub-par apps that come pre-loaded on the phone like the movie app by, again I can' not write the name here, BB, or the search app that starts wit B, or the city ap that has id in its name city+id that is ee based.
Other than that the phone is great. love the voice commands, and love the direction app by the maker of your operating system, now that I have that installed.
But why can't I personalize MY phone with MY apps. I think you mistake what open source means. If I were looking for i---Phone dictator aps, I'd have bought one of those. I want to personalize MY phone. I want to delete the apps I find useless and that take up space.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, google andriod
Cons: pre-installed impossible to remove apps like bing, blockbuster app is impossible to remove, cityid is impossible to remove, can't easily personalize, can't easily delete pre-installed apps, speaker quality is okay
I would recommend this to a friend!

I USED to love my Facinate phone
on July 9, 2011

I loved my Samsung Facinate phone until I got the upgrade on June 12. Many problems after the update. took my phone to my wireless provider and they ordered me a refurb and it worked fine for a few weeks and now I have the same problems as before. I didn't see any new updates come through so don't know why all these problems started happening. SHORT (less than 8 hr) battery life, display stays dark after call, can't SNYC to my bluetooth on my car, missed calls and missed text messages. Can't turn off new apps that came on the phone. I am so disappointed in this phone. Because of this phone I had become a different user - now using internet, more texting, playing games, bluetooth for hands free and now I have a phone with way too many problems. I used to love it but since that upgrade I hate it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations, upgrade caused problems
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
