I needed a monitor that would split screens so that I could bring work home with me. This monitor is wide enough to split screens and still be able to see without straining my eyes
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Incredible screen

This monitor makes my work much more easier with the ability to display multiple documents. Watching videos, movies and TV are incredible.
This is a great monitor. I use the monitor to play Call of Duty Advance Warfare and having the additional screen size makes all the difference. Very clear and detailed. You will need a very good video card to take advantage of what this monitor can do. If you are a gamer, this is the monitor for you. My only problem is my son keeps on using my computer even though he has dual monitors on his computer. I have also has done film editing on the my computer using the 37" monitor and the ability to have multi windows open is very useful. This is the best monitor I have every owned. I bought it at Frys and got a great deal.
The monitor is very nice - works well and has a great picture and pretty good sound. However, the software supplied to permit automatically splitting the screen into halves and quarters does not work with Windows 8 running on a 64 bit system. I spent nearly an hour today on a chat line with LG trying to find out why they are still advertising that it does. No good response. Their only answer - go to Microsoft support for a fix. LG is aware of the problem but not telling customers in advance. After one fails several times following their instructions and then calls in they let you know. My recommendation - wait to see if they can work out the issue and then let the customers know.
Pros: softare problems

I love the size and resolution! It is like having 2 monitors in front of you (without a space between them)... I cut my mouse clicks by half!

For work or play, having an ultra wide screen makes everything easier. Having so much more work space for applications, gaming, and organization really helps me be more efficient in computer use. I haven't tried any other brands in the cinema screen resolution ratio, so I couldn't compare exactly, but LG reliably provides a good price value for their quality products.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Very Good Curved Monitor!

I got this for my music recording studio. I also do film editing. The split screen function to view 'Mix and Edit' windows is nice. The 34" screen is nice. I did a LOT of research before this purchase, and decided it was my best choice after deciding not to get a 4k monitor. This LG has great resolution, and is very user-friendly. I use a MacBook Pro, so the Thunderbolt capability in the monitor was a great plus for me.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, resolution

Lack of screen functionality with HDMI connection

I am using this with a pre-Thunderbolt Mac mini (late 2010) via HDMI. The USB ports do not work at all on the screen when configured this way. There is also no ability to control screen brightness through the keyboard. The user manual cautions against using a cable other than Thunderbolt certified cables in the Thunderbolt port, so it would seem that I should not use a mini DVI to try and solve the USB and keyboard functionality issues. If I can verify these issues are not due to internal problems I will probably keep this due to significant increase in horizontal screen space versus a 27 Mac Cinema Display. I can live with using a USB splitter on my mac and controlling brightness via the on-screen control menu. I have also encountered static type pops when connecting/disconnecting devices.
