Love this candy apple red mixer!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This’s replaces a 27 year old KA mixer that still works, but I couldn’t resist this red apple! It is so beautiful and works perfectly. I ordered the metal bowl as that is simply my preference. Nice to have the glass bowl as a second or if I need to microwave something in the bowl. Also bought the rubber edged mixing blade like I had before. This is a 5 qt. bowl (my old one was 4.5 so nothing from it fits) and the size is great. Made 5 different cookie recipes this week and it handled all of them very well. Things were mixed perfectly and it handled a thick, heavy dough just fine. The noise level is like my old mixer and not too loud. Will never use any other brand mixer than Kitchen Aid. Since I have used a Kitcehn Aid mixer before, I knew how to use this mixer and there was no learning curve. Highly recommend this mixer!
Beautiful design, but difficult to spin the glass bowl off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really like our new mixer. It mixes great and it's reliable. The only challenge has been spinning the glass bowl off the base. Once you lock it in the base, it's hard to spin it off the base because the handle hits the arm of the mixer. Aside from that simple design challenge, we really like the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a KitchenAid mixer for years and adored it. Replaced it recently. It seemed to me that the "off/on" lever was stiff. However, I thought it might work itself out after use. It seemed to be doing fine and then the last time I used it, it started making noises that I know don't belong there. I just haven't gotten to sit down and contact you about this. I purchased it at Kohl's I believe last December or early January. My nearest Kohl's is about 90 miles away so I did it online. Can you help me with this? Normally, I would sing KitchenAid's praises - but not with this one. In advance, thank you Mrs. Jeane Matteo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this for Christmas from my husband (I asked for it). It has been easy to assemble and disassemble for washing and mixes and blends things a whole lot better than I could do with a hand mixer. The simplicity is wonderful

I Kneaded this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for the sole purpose of kneading dough. It works great for that but I soon discovered that with it's different attachments, it can easily become my go to machine for just about everything.

Did a lot of research before purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old Sunbeam mixer was 28 years old. I did a lot of research before I purchased this mixer. I like the power and speed it offers when mixing. I also like the size and shape of the bowl. The beaters that came with the mixer are not the best but I will eventually purchase the Flex Edge Beater as it is supposed to not require the use of a spatula to scrap the sides. The beaters must be washed by hand or the coating will discolor and flake off. The mixer is very heavy and is not easy to store in a cabinet. I keep it on my counter and have it sitting on a plastic cutting board so that I can slide it from underneath the cabinets to a working position with ease. I then must set it off of the cutting board so that I can use it. All things considered I am happy with it. I hope this one lasts a long time as well!

The Same, but Different

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the KitchenAid Artisan Design Series 5 a few weeks ago because I was ready for a new, updated KitchenAid Mixer, in a color better-suited for my kitchen. I went with the Artisan Design Series 5 because it seemed to be a bit smaller than my old Artisan, without losing any power, and I'm not a power-baker in need of a 6-quart.
The Artisan seems quieter too, but that may be my rose-colored-glasses at work. The lever slides toward me to lock, which will take getting used to, but that certainly isn't a deal-breaker. The glass bowl is wider than my old stainless and I really like being able to see the contents + the measurements on the side of the bowl.
I've not tried any of the stand mixer attachments, still deciding what I want to do first.
I have loved my KitchenAid Mixer for years and years because it can handle anything I toss its way and this newer one doesn't disappoint. I have one cookie recipe that puts the motor to the test every time I make it, but the mixer stays tough.
I didn't necessarily need a new mixer, but was in a position to buy a new one which I'd been wanting for 3-4 years. Really nice way to treat myself!
The Artisan 5-quart is a bit pricey, but it'll last a long time. Could be you'll buy a new one more for the color than for the need!
