[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Husband finally caught on to the hints and bought me the super-cute-teal head stand mixer with the glass bowl. (Since, I couldn't justify spending that on myself.) I had another mixer in the past that was loud and left unmixed batter in the bottom of the bowl. This KitchenAid works great and is so much quieter than I would expect from an electric mixer. I am worried about the glass and the potential it has to break, but it is mesmerizing to watch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my Third Kitchen Aid mixer (I have my moms from when I was a child (I'm 44)- it has motor issues, and my dads which survived and still works after a fire ;) ) I had actually been looking at the larger mixer myself but my hubby totally surprised me with this one for Chirstmas. My dads is the bowl lift version and I can say I do like/miss that. This one however does work fine for everything I've done so far from batters, icings, etc.
CONS: The bowl. While it looks great for sitting on the counter it is just totally unrealistic weight wise to try to hold on one hand while scraping out with the other especially while full. It honestly kills my hand especially when doing multiple bakes. Also I REALLY wanted the splatter/pour shield that attaches to the tops of the bowls and from what I've read they just do not fit properly on the glass version. TOTAL BUMMER. I will probably wind up having to purchase a metal bowl to fit mine as the bottom is different and therefore my other bowls will not fit it sadly.
PROS: No motor whine with thick batter, not the loudest counter top mixer I've heard, and of course I've had Kitchen Aid mixers for 40 years in my/mom's kitchen so I know they last!!! Also have and LOVE the hand held mixer as well.
