[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find the bowl much more difficult than the metal one that came with my previous mixer. The plastic piece on the bottoms that is supposed to lock it into and out of position is difficult to use. I purchased an extra bowl to see if it would work better, but it does not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as an early Christmas present, so have been using it alot ever since. Got the pure white one and it is lovely, with the glass bowl. I got into a bread-making mode a few months back and every recipe I tried failed miserably. All that hard work and most results were either disappointing or inedible. The Kitchenaide mixer made all the difference. It brought the joy back into bread- making. I made a different kind almost every other day and have a freezer packed with delicious homemade bread. I made brioche, hot dog and hamberger buns trying different recipes for both, and a very good flat bread type recipe which I could never get the hang of when I was making it by hand.
I leave the Kitchenaide out on my countertop since it is so pretty. It works very well and I have nothing to complain about. The bowl is sturdy with thick glass and is not heavy to lift, but heavy enough that dropping a 16 oz glass jar onto it did not even chip it. I am more careful now since that accident.
