I replaced my washer with this model and have really enjoyed the savings due to the higher Energy Star rating and the Auto Load Seansing. Quiet and a ease to use.with many more wash options than the previous washer.

My Cabrio top load washer was easy to install. We have used it for almost a year or so and really love it. The everyday laundry became an easy task for my family.

This is the worst washing machine type I have used in 40 yea

Explanation of the section, "Your product rating:"*Overall rating - 1 of 5 starsThis washing machine does not clean clothes efficiently or easily. The dial of choices is confusing. I need to check the chart of choices each time. By the way, the washing machine did not come with a handbook, I had to find one online and print it.I have white clothing that I have washed for many years. Men's underwear shirts, socks, summer shorts and slacks, bath towels. I have had a proven system for washing whites. I have always been proud of the fact that my laundry produced white whites through years of washing. School uniform shirts - white! These items are now lackluster in the white category. My towels are grayish and dull. My husband's underwear shirts are soft and worn from years of wear and laundering--and they WERE white. It is suggested, and I have proven that to keep whites white you need plenty of water for the clothes to move freely in the wash. I always used Tide with Bleach. I suppose it is not the fault of Whirlpool that Tide with Bleach is not made for the "e" machines. Another detergent was suggested, which I tried, and I am not pleased with the results.Besides the white issue, the dried clothes and towels are sort of stiff. I tried using less detergent. Still, they feel like the fibers are not rinsed. (The low water issue again?) The towels have a smell of dried towels that have been washed on a camping trip, in a bucket of water and hung on the line. So I tried the "extra rinse" feature. That adds water - which I wish I could have added during the original wash cycle. It also adds 12-15 minutes to an already long cycle. So with the extra water, electricity and time, I don't acknowledge the efficiency. When the load is washing a larger item, such as a jacket or sheets, the end of the cycle there is a "puff" of fabric over the tangle of the rest of the load.Ease of use:Prior to each load, I need to refer to the chart to determine which of the many choices will be appropriate for the load. I cannot set it to the one choice that I prefer, and it will stay there until I change it. That would be a good feature. It is suggested that each load be "placed" up the walls of the tub so the small bump in the bottom is exposed to sense the size of the load. I don't think it is easy to pile socks or bedsheets up the sides of a deep tub so a small ball on the bottom can determine what is in there. The clothes are dirty, and I don't want to individually place them in the washing machine. They slide down; I restock them; they slide down. Sheets don't want to stay up the sides of a tub either.Design:The lid is not flat. You can't fold a tee-shirt on it. You can't sit a box of dryer sheets on it. It has no purpose for being not flat. It is inconvenient. As I mentioned in East of Use, placing soiled items up the sides of a deep tub is not a good design.Features:The features are confusing. They do not conform to any choices on a traditional washing machine. If this is the first machine a person is introduced to laundry, they would not consider it as compared to traditional machines, but still, there are too many combinations of choices with no clear "type of load" outcome. And as I mentioned in Ease of Use and Design, placing soiled clothing individually up the sides of a deep tub so a ball in the bottom can take a look around is not a positive feature of a washing machine. My previous machines let me decide what size load to use. Sometimes, I might want to wash one jacket and use a lot of water to do it. I don't have that choice now. I tried to put six buckets of water in the tub. It rinsed it out and started over. Besides using water to keep white clothes white, it is preferred to use more water, less clothes, if washing wrinkle free items, like khaki slacks and oxford cloth shirts. Since I am unable to make this choice, all the items are wrinkled now, and I must add ironing time to my laundry. The locking door feature is unnecessary. I like to add different items throughout the load depending on fabric, and I cannot do that without waiting until the door is unlocked.Performance:The laundry is not clean, in my opinion. The machine decides how it wants to wash the load. I have no choice beyond temperature. I must use an extra rinse to keep the clothes from smelling and being stiff. I add time to my laundry day due to the extra rinse and ironing clothes I used to dry and hang.Quality:Due to the explanations in each of the previous categories, I think this machine has a low quality. I would not recommend it.Sound levels:It is quiet. I have had quiet machines. This one makes a variety of grunting noises through the cycle which is annoying at times.Innovation:Something new is always a good idea, but I think this idea should have been stopped before it was distributed to the public. Conclusion:I would not recommend this product to anyone. The sales staff should mention all the above comments to any buyer so they can make an informed decision to accept those features before buying. I do not know what the purpose of buying this type of machine is. It is advertised as "e" but it needs extra water, time and electrical energy to complete a load.AND, the whites are still not white.

Very quiet and dependable

If not for the attractive light display, it would be difficult to hear this machine operating. So far my whirlpool has been very dependable and does a great job washing my cloths with a minimum amout of energy use. Over rhe past 40 years I have owned many washing machines, but this one is by far the most attractive and quietest of them all. Hopefully it will give me years of dependable service.

Have problems washing and drying

Bleach I use through the dispenser for whites has stained the next load of laundry and has ruined several items in subsequent loads of dark items. I have had to stop using bleach. Did not have this problem with my old maytag.Dryer often times leaves some items damp and have to be put back for another cycle

Worst washer ever!

I have owned this washer for about a year and a half and will never own another washer without the agitator. This washer does not use enough water. My clothes come out with dry spots where water never touched them. I very often have to run a load thru twice to get them clean. I also have to run a load thru two spin cycles to get all the water out. It is not ECO friendly or efficient at ALL. DO NOT BUY this washer. I owned the Maytag Bravos before buying this one and it was just as bad.

Our clothes have never been cleaner. The low water useage really helps our septic system. The slopeing top is a pain as one cannot put anything on the top for even 5 seconds.
