So Far So Good

We just had this installed yesterday, so this may be a little premature, but it's a very cool retro design that matches our old french country style home perfectly. It's more narrow then our previous fridge, which we also like. Only complaint so far is that the shelves if the refridgerated portion don't slide or fold up, like we had with all our past fridges, but that's not a deal breaker. The door storage on the fridge is great too.

This Frig swallowed all our groceries with room to spare, looks great, and best of all -no ice-maker to rob us of our joy.

This frig was purchased to replace a GE frig that was 24 years old. And once again I was very happy with the product. It is not only pleasing to look at but so spacious inside. Perfectly built with sliding basket in freezer

Cool refrigerator, poor handle design

I am installing my new Artistry refrigerator now, and am changing the hinges to the left side and the handles to the right. There is a huge design flaw here, in my opinion. When the handle is switched to the right side, the set screw that tightens the handle to the stud in the center of the door is on top. To me, this ruins the aesthetics of the handle and really looks cheap. Seems to me there should be a left hand handle set and a right hand set. I don't know what to do. I've spent a lot of time renovating a 60's retro kitchen and this is the last thing I had to do. Call me picky, but this still doesn't seem right. Someone totally dropped the ball on this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my new GE Frig. I am a Interior Designer and when I saw this frig I fell in love with it. I love the retro look!!! The top frig space has great space for all f our beverages in the door and condiments. The shelves have a ton of space for everything else. We also had the ice maker installed be case that was a must.

Very nice fridge

I only rated 4 stars because we had to call and have them fix the gasket on the freezer. They came quickly, and fixed it for free, so not a huge deal. But considering it's brand new, I wasn't expecting to service it already.
Other than that, the fridge is beautiful and very roomy. The freezer is also pretty nice. I do kind of wish it was a pull out drawer instead of a swinging drawer for convenience, but that's just me being lazy!

Not what I expected

I wanted something to fit our 'retro' kitchen remodel on our farm. The sales women did not mention that the door is the only part that has the shiny exterior, the rest of the refrigerator on the outside is the rough plastic finish. GE put a 'retro' door on a regular fridge. The salesperson did not mention (I never thought to ask, since I assume all fridges are frost freeze) that the fridge is 'retro' in the way the freezer is NOT frost freeze...it condenses very very quickly. It also has a very loud motor. So I guess you might say I got 'retro' but not in the way I expected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Styling

I bought this refrigerator about 6 months ago. It fits perfect in my older style farm house. I always liked having the freezer on the bottom. The only thing I dislike is that any container with height must be stored on the door. The shelves go the whole way across the width, I love the styling because it has a retro look while also being very modern looking. It is very unique. I hear rumors that it may come in RED and that would be my first choice.
