Thank you GE for designing a stylish retro frigerator offering form and function. Your design team must have had our 1950's home in mind while designing this beauty. I love our new refrigerator! I smile everytime I look at and open it too.

Very Good Purchase

I always wanted a bottom freezer refrigerator, but I let price influence my decision. Not this time. I think the things in the freezer are a little more difficult to retrieve, but having the refrigerated items on top is more convenient because you use that part more. I love the retro look of this model, that was a major influence on my decision to purchase this model. If I could change one thing it would be the positioning of the interior light. For me, it just breaks up the top shelf storage space a little too much. I have been using this appliance for about three months and am very satisfied.

I wanted a GE refrigeration because my other appliances were GE and wanted them to match brand. I had a small space so had to take that into consideration. I saw this one in a store and really fell in love with it. The reviews I read on it said it was very loud. I didn't think that would bother me, but it sounds like a plane taking off. It is annoying. Also the freezer at the bottom I thought was cool. But it has a magnet as most do to keep the door shut. And you have to make sure you shut it right or it can stay open. I've enjoyed the look. But not sure if I had to do it again, I would have bought this one. Only because I think you can get more for your money than this one. I can't believe GE hasn't come up with a way for it to be quieter. In any case it only makes the noise when it is running, as it doesn't run the whole time. But it keeps everything nice and cold like it should.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor layout options

I was disappointed in the internal layout of the frig. Shelves go all the way across. My prior frig had split shelves which gave you more flexibility in how you set it up. In addition the veg bins froze the vegetables no matter what settings I selected. Finally had to have them repair it. Not a great start to a new frig. I selected this one because it fit in my space and I wanted freezer on the bottom.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Retro fridge at an affordable price!

Love the look of this retro fridge -- especially at the price point. A few things I would mention are: 1. Wish the sides were finished like the front, instead they are the textured paint that you find on most lower-end appliances. 2. The drawers in the fridge are hard to open -- you have to pull really hard. Hopefully this will improve with time. 3. Wish the freezer was a drawer instead of a door -- would be much easier to access food.
This are minor compromises for a stylish fridge at an affordable price. Pleased with my purchase!

I bought this from a picture because there was not one on the floor at the store where I purchased it. I thought it was a bottom drawer freezer and find the door to be a big waste of space. I have had bottom drawer freezers in the past, and that was what I thought I ordered, and I am very unhappy with it. I also find the refrigerator part to be difficult to use because the door doesn't give you options for the door space. I was in a hurry as I had no refrigerator at the time and wanted to get one as quick as possible.
